Deepest sympathy to Yvonne, Janet, Mike, Deena and Robert Matthew. It was an honor to have known Uncle Dan. We can take comfort in knowing he is with Baba now.

Dear Kumovi: Ivana, Joka, Mike, Deena, Bogdan Mato:

Far away from the coal mines and steel mills of Illinois/Indiana, I write these short and simple lines to express my deepest sympathy to you all, sitting alone here in my office in the capital of Serbdom. Although Kum Dusan and Kuma Milica were not born here, they were as much a part of Serbdom as any native born Serb; they were taught to love Srpstvo and Crna Gora by Kum Mato and Kuma Jela, which they always did, defending them both whenever called upon (or provoked). We pray that Kum Dusan today is reunited with his good and honorable parents, with Kuma Milica and Kum Ziko, with Kum Djuro, with his cousin Radovan, and with my tata and mama and that together they are recounting stories of life in Gary and South Chicago, and that they are thinking about us and interceding for us, who miss them all very much and who need their help always.

May God grant rest to the good soul of Kum Dusan and may his memory be eternal!

Vecnaja Pamjat!
