Ronald Youngkin

RONALD YOUNGKIN Hobart, Indiana On October 24, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. Ronald Youngkin passed into eternity with his loving family at his side. Ron was born in Gary on August 22, 1933 to Walter and Beatrice Youngkin who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 38 years Kim (Maple) Youngkin; and four wonderful daughters who he loved dearly: Tracy (William) Doyle and Stacy Chaney, both of Lothian, MD, Dianne McGee and Susan Newman, both of Manchester, TN; his dear sister, Muriel Hageman of Westville, IN. A brother Robert Youngkin of Muncie, IN preceded him in death and a sister Marvel Kock of Streamwood, IL also preceded him in death. He has 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Ron was 74 years young. He played football for Merrillville High School and graduated in 1952. He then joined the Army and served in Korea (1955-1957). He then returned to Gary and joined the Gary Police Department, retiring in 1978 as a Sergeant. Ron was a master at ceramic tile for over 40 years - he was a subcontractor, creating beautiful kitchens and baths in homes all over Northwest Indiana. He hunted and fished throughout Indiana and Michigan, decorating his home with his many trophies. Ron will be missed by his family and friends. In his final wishes he leaves a message for Kim - bye, see ya later, I'll wait for you, love always, Ron. Family and friends will join at the Kraft Funeral Services, 370 N. County Line Rd., Hobart, on Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. to remember and celebrate his life. For information please call 219-942-9866.
