Russell Denard Obituary

Russell Denard Green was born in East Chicago, IN on December 17, 1956 and transitioned into eternity on January 2, 2023. Russell was born to Raymond Green, Sr and Juanita (Clark) Green he was raised in Gary, IN along with his brothers Raymond and Renard.

Russell was baptized at Davis Memorial Church with his siblings. He later met and married his middle school sweetheart Tammer (Brown) Green. To this union, two gifted and talented children were born. He was married to his loving wife for 41 years.

Russell graduated from Gary West Side High school in 1975. He also attended and graduated from Purdue University in 1982 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. The pursuit of his career took him from EEOC Liaison with the city of Gary, to a long-standing managerial relationship with the Home Depot Corporation. Over the course of his professional life, Russell earned many certificates, achievements, and rewards for performance as an outstanding employee.

Throughout his life, Russell was referred to in many ways. He was a devoted son, an enduringly supportive brother, a gregarious friend (particularly when playing bid whist at the card table) a doting father, and a loving and loyal husband. While Russell had a full spectrum of interests that spanned from technology to traveling, his truest life joy, however, was simply spending time with friends and family.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Juanita Green, his brother, Renard and sister, Rosland. He leaves to fondly cherish his memory, his devoted wife Tammer, his son Aaron D. Green, and his daughter Ashley N. Green. He is survived by his oldest brother Raymond Green Jr and Aunt Ernestine Fields along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

While Russell's heart of this world may have failed him, his soul remains strong and if you sit quietly, you can feel the might of his soul in the cherished hymn:

"When peace like a river attendeth my way;

When sorrow like sea billows roll;

Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,

It is well, it is well, with my soul."

Thank you Russell for the present of your kind and generous soul!

A memorial service in honor of Russell will be held on Wednesday January 11, 2023 at W.D. Lemon and Sons Funeral Home located at 300 Griffin St, McDonough, GA 30253.

To the Green Family,

May God comfort you during the loss of your loved one.

Russell was my boss at Gary EEOC my first step into my career in Computer Information Systems. During the interview Russell said "You know this is just a stepping stone for you." I will never forget his words and he was so right. Over the years I kept in touch just to let him know my IT career journey and to laugh about the past. He was truly a great boss and friend. I made sure before we finished our conversation to thank him for all the help and advice he gave. He will be truly missed.
