Victor H. Voss

VICTOR H. VOSS Calumet Township, Indiana Age 93, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 20, 2006. Vic was a graduate of Elkport High School in Elkport, Iowa. He received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. He then moved to Chicago, Illinois and was Chief Engineer for WIND radio station in Chicago where he met his wife to be, Rita Pelka. He then moved to Gary and became the founder of WWCA radio station in Gary and WLOI in LaPorte, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Rita Marcina Voss on August 12, 1992. He is survived by his son, Robert S. (Judy) Voss of Manassas, Virginia; his daughter, Mary Ann (Chuck) Hansen of Griffith; 3 loving grandchildren: Craig, Sean and Lauren; 1 sister, Esther Voss of St. Paul, Minnesota; niece, Louise Thurn of Elkaber, Iowa; and his granddog, Abby. Funeral services Friday, June 23, 2006, 10:00 a.m. Directly at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Avenue, Highland with Rev. Keith M. Virus officiating. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family at the Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point on Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
