Barbara Pilon Obituary

Barbara J. Pilon

Neenah - Barbara J. Pilon, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 16, 2019. She was born June 10, 1944 in Escanaba, MI, daughter of the late Jule and Mathilda (Reubens) Potvin.

Barb married Gerald "Jerry" Pilon on October 16, 1965. She held a variety of roles in her career including executive assistant at JJ Keller, administrative assistant at Neenah High School and health aide at Kimberly Clark.

Barb's love for people kept her very involved in many volunteer activities including catechist and Red Cross. The most important thing was spending time with her family. She enjoyed hiking, cooking, playing and building as many memories with her children and grandchildren as she could.

Barb's laugh was infectious and her smile contagious. She was an inspiration to others and deeply impacted their lives. Barb left everyone feeling better about themselves after being in her presence. She had a way of making everyone she met feel like they had been friends forever.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two daughters: Susan (Joseph) Beach, Sheri (Mike) Treu; six grandsons: Joey (Tiffany) Beach, Josh (Amanda) Beach, Jerrad (Holly) Beach, Jesse Beach, Max Treu and Tony Treu; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bill (Kay) Potvin.

The Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. The visitation will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service held at 6:45 PM. Visitation and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in honor of Barb for the Fox Valley Memory Project.

Jerry and Family,
Sorry to hear about the passing of Barbara. Heard the news today from Jan Ctoasdel Met the two of you at Mesa Regal on 5th Street. For several years you were next to our Park Model on 5th. Barbara passed away just about two years to the day that Ted passed. We certainly enjoyed the two of you.

My Prayers and Sympathy,

Dear Jerry and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Barb's passing. We had such good times in Arizona. Ping Pong, trips to the Theater, out to lunch or just out for ice cream. She could make us all laugh with just one look or a word, or her smile. She has been missed these last couple of years since you were unable to come to Mesa.

I will keep you all in my prayers and offer up my mass and communion on Sunday.

God Bless .

Barb was an active member of the Memory Care program at St. Paul Lutheran Church. My husband Sam and I volunteer there. We always looked forward to seeing Barb. She was just was fun to be around. Barb loved music. My husband reminded me of a time when we played the piano together. Barb sitting next to me helping me with chop sticks and Heart and Soul. She was so contented. Jerry thank you for sharing Barb with us. She is missed.

Sending you God's comfort in prayer,

Christine and Sam Ellickson

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of cousin "Jeanie" as we knew her. I remember the first time I met her when I was four years old. Aunt Virginia took my brother Richard and myself to Gladstone for a visit. Jeanie showed us how to slide down the bannister at Grandma Reubens house, telling us to keep it quiet so Grandma wouldn't hear us! She had that sweet smile even then. Many good memories. She will be missed. We are thinking of you all and keeping you in our prayers. Thank you for the pictures.

One of the things that really gets me through this time is laughter, moms laughter, the laughter of family and friends...I used to tell Mom lil bedtime stories and of course they always ended up all strange and beautiful....here's one of my fav. chats. I didn't realize we could post videos ... so fingers crossed this works.

Angels definitely danced receiving her into the Heavens. She will be missed by all, but a lot of memories to keep close to our hearts.
One of the first people we met moving to the UP, and a Godmother to our son, Barb will always have a cherished place in our hearts.
Peace and love to the entire family.

When we kids were growing up, Barb was always so kind and supportive of everything we did and who we were. She had a natural joy about her and was also wise and gentle. So many things can be said about her character that to try to cover it all here would take forever. I remember how Barb was amused by how we called her "Mom", and that she took all of our antics with the dozen or so grains of salt they needed. She always made us laugh and feel at home. She was a fantastic confidant and was always there to help me through some of my adolescent pains. I am grateful, and feel I am a better person for having known her. Barb was then and always will be a deeply special part of my heart. Thank you for sharing your wonderful Mom, Wife and friend with all of us over the years. God bless you all in your time of mourning. Know that she is somewhere where she will never forget your names....
