Benjamin Karner Obituary

Karner, Benjamin D.

Benjamin Daniel Karner, 41 of Kimberly passed peacefully on August 12th, 2017 due to a brain aneurysm. Ben was born to Marcie(LaDuke) and Norb Karner on April 22,1976. Ben graduated from Kimberly High School in 1995, and started his career in farming at the early age of fourteen, working on farms milking cows then working on farm equipment. He currently was employed by Schmidt Buildings and Equipment in Kaukauna. Ben also served as a Volunteer firefighter for Kimberly and currently with the Town of Buchanan.

There was nothing Ben could not fix, take apart, or put together. Ben also had a love for old cars. He owned a 1979 Monte Carlo that he enjoyed working on with Caleb. Often, he could be heard in the neighborhood or miles away. Benjamin was loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his laugh and love for people, always working on something for family or friends or just hanging out in his shop that he created and was so proud of. On August 29, 2009 Ben and Jennifer married. They shared the most incredible life together, a love that was deeper and unlike any other. He was the love of her life.

Ben is survived by his loving wife: Jennifer Karner, and his two children: Daytana Sky Autumn Roloff, Caleb Daniel Karner, and his stepson Kevin Shuckhart whom he loved like his own. Additional survivors include a brother: Rex Karner; a sister: Katie (Ryan) Feucht and their sons Ian and Henry; his paternal grandmother: Agnes Karner Rademacher, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ben is also survived by Jennifer's parents: Ernest and Karla Shuckhart, Jr; her brother: Robert Shuckhart and his children Robert and Hyden Shuckhart, and Julie Giordano; her sister: Heidi Shuckhart and her daughters Ciara Shuckhart and Kylee Long.

A celebration of Ben's life will be at Christ the Rock Church in Menasha, Saturday, August 19, 2017 with visitation taking place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm followed by the service and a tribute from the Firefighters. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

The family would like to give a special thanks to some significant friends in Ben's life; Brent Otto, Jason Reinke, Craig Day and Brad Miland. The family would also like to thank Dr. Bhattacharjee and all the ICU nurses at Theda Care Regional Medical Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care given to Ben.

Benny, You grew to be a handsome, helpful, hardworking man. Thank you for two wonderful grandchildren to carry on your legacy. Your ultimate gift of organ donation is proof of how you lived life, always giving and helping others. We are so proud of you, missing you always ~ Love Mom & Dad

I never thought in a million years I would be saying goodbye. We had so many hopes and dreams for our future and to grow old together. I cannot imagine how my life will be without you by my side. The tears in my eyes I can wipe away, but the ache in my heart will always stay. Till we meet again my love ~Jennifer

Through his gift of organ donation, he will live on through many others.

Mind boggling...so young...but my Dad died from the same thing...often associated with high blood pressure...death being essentially instantaneous. I would not have recognized him from his picture...been a while...but will miss him.

Our hearts go out to ALL that are missing Ben. To say he will be missed is an understatement. He was so kind and friendly to everyone. He changed the lives of those who know him, as he made us all appreciate our friendships with him. While I did not know him very long or well, he always made a point to talk to me about my horse, while everyone else was talking about their "horsepower". He remembered every conversation we had and was genuine in getting know each and every person he spoke with. We all need to honor him, by treating each other in same regard as Ben did for us. He was kind, generous, and true friend to all. Even in passing he continued to give the ultimate gift of organ donation so that others could live. He was a truly self-less person, and will be missed greatly. Special thoughts and prayers to his family.

Jennifer, Caleb and Daytana and all of your family. I am so sorry for your loss. Ben was a great husband , father and friend to many. While ben and I have been best friends since kindergarten. Over the years we've done everything together. At this stage in our life's we knew everything about each other. Ben has helped me with so much over the year including helping me build my hot rod shop, my back yard shed and most recently helped me build a bed room in my basement for my son. Ben would do this for anyone that needed the help its just the good guy he was. (Johnny on the spot) the other thing ben and I shared along with his son caleb and my boy Landon was the car hobby. Some may remember my old high school car the Monte Carlo. All these years later Ben ended up finding that car after I sold it back in 2000. Ben has done a lot of work to that car making it very nice and extremely fast. But as I always told ben my chevelle is still faster lol. It would drive ben nuts when I would say that. We spent a lot of time at each other's houses. Everyday we would talk on the phone or a text or me coming over to your shop to solve all the worlds problems. Now that all goes away. Although it will be hard not to talk to you daily I know you will always be around. Like we have talked in the past if something would happen to one of us that the other would make sure the other family would be ok. I will hold good on that. Say hi to my dad for me, and hopefully the hot rods in heaven are as cool as the ones you and I have had over the years. Till we meet again my friend take care, love ya man...Brent....

I have run into Ben here and there throughout the years, he was a few grades ahead of me in school. He always stopped to say Hi and wanted to share "life stories." We were never really friends, didn't hang out-but he sure made me feel like a friend. Such a nice guy....My thoughts and prayers go out to the families-may You find comfort and peace in all the memories you have with Ben.
