Donald E. Swetz

Kaukauna

Age 83, died peacefully at home on Saturday, January 18, 2014 with both daughters by his side and his dog Heidi on his lap. He was born on October 23, 1930 in Wisconsin Rapids, son of the late Frank and Emma (Hosek) Swetz. On September 1, 1954, Don was united in marriage to Donna Hillmer. In 1958, the couple moved to Kaukauna where they resided their entire married life. Don served his country during the Korean War and was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison.

He is survived by his two daughters: Deb Ackerman, Eau Claire and Dawn (Kevin) Green, Madison; three grandchildren: Christopher Green, Sarah Ackerman, and Joe Ackerman, all of Minneapolis. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Darlene Fanning and Judy (Dale) Eggebrecht, all of Wisconsin Rapids, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife Donna, a sister Elaine Ladick, a son-in-law Mike Ackerman, a sister-in-law Joan Swetz, and a brother-in-law Pat Fanning.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH @ ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 2401 Main Avenue, Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors celebrating. Family and friends will be received at church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Theda Care at Home Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care, or the Fox Valley Humane Association.
