Dorothy Schmidt Obituary
New London - Dorothy J. Schmidt, age 89, New London died peacefully at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. She was born on July 10, 1928 in the Town of Hortonia, daughter of the late Rexford and Pearl (Hoha) McNutt. On July 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to William A. Schmidt. He preceded her in death in 2001. Dorothy worked at Riches (Elm Tree) Bakery in Appleton for many years. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her sons and their families. She was a Gold Star Mother with the loss of her son Robert.
She is survived by her sons: William, Charles and Phillip; grandchildren: Andrew (Shannon) Schmidt; Denise Schmidt; Danielle Schmidt and Michael Schmidt; a sister Alice (Rev. Ralph) Walters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert, and sisters, Gladys Ames and Vera Johnson.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4-7 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.

Dearest Aunt Dorothy,
I will always hear her loving voice in my mind. Her loving hello's and good bye's with every phone call made the next call seem too far away. The memories of Aunt Dorothy have flooded my thoughts and her stories, in which, she shared her wisdom with me, will never be forgotten. Aunt Dorothy helped keep her sisters memory, my mother, alive for me. I am so grateful I have had the opportunity to have an Aunt that was so easy to love and cherish and feel the same love in return. I am sure in time, the tears of loss, will turn to thoughts of joy as the wonderful memories take over the sorrow.
