Douglas Schieck Obituary

Schieck, Douglas G.

Douglas Grant Schieck, age 54, of Neenah passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, February 11, 2013 at his home. He was born on December 21, 1958 in Yokosuka, Japan, son of Robert and Judith (Bingham) Schieck. Doug, as a child, also lived in Tien Mu, Taiwan. Throughout his life, he lived all over the world, including Germany and Switzerland, where he became a Master Craftsman in the art of watch and clock making and repair. On September 25, 2004 he married Virginia "Ginny" L. Clough at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Neenah, and loved her children as if they were his own. Doug was a loving, caring husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son. He loved grilling out so much, that he earned the title "Chef Boy-R-Doug". Doug also enjoyed music, telling stories, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and camping at Triangle Farm Campground in Fremont. He was a dog lover, especially his dogs Cheyanne and Stryder. All who knew Doug will miss his generosity, affection, and his keen sense of humor.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Ginny; his parents: Bob and Judy Schieck, Antioch, IL; a brother, Brian (wife - Dominique) Schieck, Hayward, CA; Ginny's children: Travis Bezella, Plymouth, MN, Kayla McNamara, Neenah, Jerid Parker, Neenah; grandchildren: Sofia and Miles; parents-in-law, Darrell and Betty Clough; as well as several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and dear friends. Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Hansen, whom he loved dearly.

The Memorial Service for Doug will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church (140 S. Green Bay Road, Neenah) with Rev. Stephen W. Dietzler officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's name may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

how can people who were once so close become so far apart? those are the words that echo through my mind since we heard just this weekend of doug's passing earlier this year. he was a sweetheart of a man and we have many, many fond memories of time spent with him! we will cherish those more so now! We last saw him 3 years ago and all he spoke if was his happiness with his life in Wisconsin! May you find comfort in the Lord's love and strength as you navigate life here on this earth without Doug. Prayers and blessings to you all,

Hey Everyone,
I just heard the news and wanted to give a shout out to an old friend, one last time.
Been thinking about how cool it would be to get the old dirt bike gang together for a poker party and I wondered How Doug was doing. I had'nt seen him in so long, maybe 10 years.
I will never forget the great times we had riding all over the neighborhood and camping at Billy's and Silverlake Mi. sand dunes with all those dirt bikes and quads. You were one cool dude! Thanks for being a good friend. I'll never forget you.
I'm sorry I didn't call sooner for that poker game.
My deepest condolences to you Ginny and your family.
