Jeanette Fowler Obituary

Fowler, Jeanette Clara

Jeanette Clara Fowler passed away Oct. 8, 2016 in OH. She resided her last year at Chapel Hill Nursing Home in Ohio, but had lived nearby with her daughter, Sandy for 8 years prior. She was born in Forestville, WI to Louis and Theresa Wiese, and then grew up on the Wiese farm near Appleton, WI. She attended Neenah Schools. Having been born August 24, 1916, she recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

Jeanette was a grade school teacher in Wisconsin rural and consolidated schools in her early years. She received her degree to teach from Oshkosh Normal College. For many years she also had a second career as a payroll accountant at American Can Co. in Neenah. Pre-retirement for 7 years she also enjoyed being a housemother at Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Lawrence College. For fun she and her husband loved bowling in Neenah-Menasha bowling leagues, where she achieved many high pin scores.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 older sisters Elara, Leora, and Eleanor. Also a great loss was her husband, Frank Robert Fowler, who died in 1962. She is survived by her two daughters Janet Ann Fowler (Morey) of Algonquin, IL and Sandra Jean Freund of Akron, OH. She had 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Interment of her ashes will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery next to her husband.
