Jeffrey Langyel Obituary

Langyel, Jeffrey, E.

Jeffrey Eugene Langyel, age 56, passed away on February 10, 2014, at Anna John Nursing Home in Oneida from a tough battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born February 28, 1957, the son of Henrietta Walker in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Suring High School in 1976. Jeff and Lisa married in Green Bay on May, 30, 1992. Once Mariah was born, (1994) they relocated to the Fox Cities.

Jeff was always very passionate for anything he did. He loved spending time in his yard, driving his tractor, and fishing in his pond. As a family Jeff, Lisa, and Mariah enjoyed taking vacations, going on family bike trips, and attending church together. Jeff also had a love for his job of food packing at Midland Papers, and he made great connections with every one of his customers. Jeff's motto was always, early bird gets the worm, and he always reminded Mariah to stay true to her faith.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Lisa of 25 years; His children, Kristin (Seth) Annoye, grandchildren, Elsie and Miriam, Jim Langyel attending UW-Madison and Mariah along with the family cat, Teko. He is further survived by sisters, Carla Langyel (Gayle), and Suzanne Gibson (Ron), brothers, Michael (Eileen) Langyel, and Bob (Sande) Walker. He is also survived by his mother, Henrietta Walker, in-laws, Rod and Marcy Zabel, Brenda and Bob Kitzman, Marc and Rachelle Piehl, and Jodi Drefahl and Bryon. Jeff's Godchildren, Jordan Walker, Natalie Langyel, and Gina Piehl. Jeff will be greatly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy and his father, Carl Langyel.

A funeral service for Jeff will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, February 14, at St. Peter Lutheran Church (N2749 French Rd. Appleton, WI 54913) with Pastor Tim Glende officiating. Burial will proceed for immediate family at Community Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Valley Funeral Home Thursday evening at 4 o'clock, with a prayer service concluding the evening at 7 o'clock. Jeff's family will be receiving family and friends on Friday starting at 11:30 until the beginning of the service at St. Peter's. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in memory of Jeff.

A special thank you to Midland Paper including John Millin, and his co-workers, to Apple Creek Y, to Aurora for the wonderful care in the hospital and Wendy and staff from Anna John's.

In my darkest hour when I have become tired, I seek The Lord for the comfort I require. I do not fear death; in Heaven I will be along with The Lord and family passed before me. Do not cry: do not weep. God is beautiful, I am finally at peace.

Your girls love you and will miss you dearly!

Jeff is very much missed. His knowledge and his wit brought our office to life. There was never a dull moment when Jeff was around. I had the privillage of working with Jeff twice. Back in the 90's at Unisource and now at Midland. At times he may of been a little rough on the outside but deep down had a heart of gold. Wish we would of had more years to work together as a team.

I would like to send my sincere sympathy. I first met Jeff in the mid 90's when he worked at Unisource. He was a great person, always striving to do the very best and he never had a negative word about anything...He will be missed!

Lisa and Mariah ~ I am so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I worked with Jeff most recently at Midland over the last several years, but I have known him for so many more years prior to working at Midland. He always had such a great attitude, super work ethic, and most of all a great sense of humor - he made all of us in the office laugh every single day!! There are so many stories I could tell about Jeff, but the one that I think is the cutest is when you all adopted Teko from the animal shelter I volunteer at. Jeff came to work one day and told me how sad the family was when the family cat then, Tigger, had passed away. I started showing him pictures of cats that were currently available for adoption, including Teko. He kept saying "No, No, Noooo Way!" Well not too many days had passed, when one day Jeff called me out of the blue, he had been visiting Teko at the shelter with the family. He implored me to help him take Teko home from the shelter right away that day!! The Langyel family met and fell in love with Teko. Jeff said, that this was to be the family cat for the girls!! It all worked out and Teko went home to his forever home with the Langyels. Thereafter, Jeff would tell me stories about how spoiled and loved Teko is along with all his naughty little habits. But the cutest part, was when Jeff confided that he was worried Teko was liking him the best, he felt just a little guilty! :-)
Jeff, you will be greatly missed by all who had the fortune of knowing you, but you will never be forgotten.
God Bless Lisa, Mariah and family.

Our deepest sympathies to the Langyel family. We were so sorry to hear about Jeff and even though we had not seen him in a very long time, he was greatly appreciated. He gave me a job when I really, really needed it, showed up to put a new roof on our house when we had very few friends in the area and did many, many kindnesses to our children when they were young. His joy in life will be very much missed.

I met Jeff through Shelly, his co worker at the time @ Midland. Shelly was in the process of selling her home and Jeff came over to take the wood from the yard.I helped him put it on his trailer.it was hot out so we stopped several times to drink a cold beer in the shade. We talked mostly guy stuff but he did show me pictures of one of the coolest backyards I have ever seen! wow what a firepit!we put so much wood on his trailer that one of the tires showed that it had low pressure in it. he said heck with it and begun his journey home. he left a smile on my face and I looked forward to seeing him again.what a cool guy! some day Im hoping to see him again and have a cold beer in the shade in heaven

Lisa, Mariah and the entire Langyel Family...words cannot express well enough the sadness that we are feeling for you in Jeff's way to early passing...our family has many memories of good times that we were able to share with Jeff and your family through the friendship of the girls through dance...He is pain free and in Heaven with his Savior that he proudly spoke of--and we are sure he is changing the landscape up there too as he did here at home on earth. Lisa~he proudly called you his Bride when he talked of you and always was wanting you and Mariah to be happy as well as even us when we were together. He was a very kind man with a big heart...we will miss our Mexican Man...Our Prayers and Love are with you all during this time...Joe, Heather, Kendra and Derek Ludwig

I went to high school with Jeff and hadn't seen him in many years. I learned last week that he was ill, and I was shocked to learn tonight that he had passed away. As I reflect back on my life, Jeff will be a part of many happy memories. He was too young to leave this world, and I know that his absence will leave a void. Good bye old friend.

I am so sorry for your loss of Jeff. I had no idea that he was ill. I am a long time friend, my husband John O'Neil who passed in 1981 was a best friend of Jeff's for many years. I have many fond memories of Jeff. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope you find comfort knowing he is now pain free and in the arms of Christ. He is also now with his best friend John and looking out for you. Rest in Peace Jeff-my heart is heavy with your passing.

Lisa, not sure if you remember me, but Jeff and I "thought" about a lot of stuff over the last 15 years or so. We spoke several times over the last couple of years about getting together but as it seems to happen too often, I'm always late in saying yes. Sorry to hear about Jeff. He left a lot of great memories I will recall often. Best Wishes to you, Mariah, and your extended family.
