Joyce Schuler Obituary

Schuler, Joyce Rose Roberts

Joyce Rose Roberts Schuler (1919-2013), a contented woman who showed us how to grow old with grace. Joyce welcomed and cared for those in her home, church (Holy Cross), neighborhood, and community. It didn't seem possible that she could become more pleasant with age but she did. From her front porch on Idlewild Street to her room at Rennes nursing home, she continued to tenderly love us, especially her little ones. Married to Marvin "Dago" Schuler and raising her family was Joyce's life. With hard work and humor she blessed us all till the end. Children and Grandchildren: Scott (Pam) Schuler, Jill and Gary Frassetto, Holly and Ken Bekkers, Sara (Stan) Plzak, Mai Plzak, Lydia and Chad Anderson, Jenny (Dick) Bergstrom, Gretchen and Chris Dimmer, Liesl and Chris Britzke, Luke and Libbe Bergstrom, Jake and Brigid Bergstrom, Jeff (Robin) Schuler, Adrea Allgeyer, Wyatt Schuler, Cole Schuler, Amy (Michael) Bartsch, Elizabeth Bartsch, Ezra Bartsch, Leah Bartsch, Molly (Lee) Huss, Sam and Kelly Huss, and Hanna Huss. Joyce was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren. Celebrating with Joyce on her 94th birthday were her brothers and sisters Tom (Tess), Jack (Floss), Dan (Charlie) and Elizabeth Roberts, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which added to our already cherished memories of our lovely mother. Thank you to those who visited and cared for her. Joyce requested that this portion of the bible be in her obituary. It was sent to her on a mother's day card by her daughter Amy years ago and it was all true of the way Joyce lived. "Happy mother's day mom. God was speaking of you when he wrote Proverbs 31". "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and bless her". Any donation in her honor can be given to the KHS Alumni Scholarship fund, an organization she was involved with throughout her lifetime. Please join us in celebrating Joyce in Friendship Hall at Holy Cross Church Desnoyer Street Kaukauna from 2:30-4 pm. Mass to follow beginning at 4pm.

Dear Schuler Family, It's been quite a few years since I've seen many of you, including Joyce, but I always remember the warm receptions at your house and the friendly encouragement Joyce gave me while I was teaching some of you. What a wonderful person she was.

Today seemed so dark, until I looked up into the night sky
Amidst the tears a glimmer shown through
Her smile reached down and wiped them away
Only then did I realize then how much brighter
Her eternal smile will be forever shining down-
To Joyce's Family;
We may not remember each other's name all the time, but we can agree that Joyce had a smile that made that Ok. Anyone who meet her has truly Blessed and carries a Spark that she so contagiously passed on.
I will be for ever grateful that I was able to experience how Great a Positive attitude that Joyce wore Daily.

I found Joyce's obituary through her grandchild's Facebook - Jill. First, my condolences to the family. Second, I'm so happy that I found Joyce's obituary. Let me tell you why. Obituaries are never a good thing, but when I saw Joyce, I felt a clear sensation of goodness. She lived to her fullest potential as she always did throughout life. I knew her as a child while friends with Molly. Joyce, I thought, was always a beautiful woman; both inside and outside. Her hair eligantly bundled so beautifully around her beautiful face. I believe I saw her once in her long white night-gown; her hair down, her slender shape - she was beautiful always!!!!
To all the family: it does not matter their age, it's still painful. But just look at what she has given to all of you throughout her life. I'm pretty distant, but know that she impacted me many years ago, as Molly impacted the same. I can't image the impact that she has given to her friends and family; a true gift from God.
To Joyce: Thank you always for making me feel like a real little person; a person that needed to be believed; a little girl that was a friend of Molly. Molly, it's been years, but the time I spent with you will never be forgotten; you are a true reflection of your mom along with your brothers and sisters.
She is now home with your family members who passed so young, as well as old.
My heart and soul portrays gratitude for Joyce being who she was as a person, and for being able to meet her children when we were young - even grand children.
Some of you may not remember me, but ask Molly, she'll remember.
God bless all of you as I know Joyce will shine upon all her loved ones and will continue when they too pass to our heaven above.

Peace. Amy Weiland Simon

Joyce's love for others will especially be missed. Prior to my marriage, I practically lived at her home on a daily basis..while picking up Jenny, for our routine trips around town in my new VW bug. Joyce always reminded me of how much she loved my little car pulling into her driveway...and of course..Dago would say: "We love your CAR...not you...so go away!" I still have such fond memories of all the LAUGHTER in their home! Jenny..thanks for sharing your parents with me for all those years! ??
