My sincere condolences for your loss. I had no idea that my cousin June passed away. I just found out due to an internet search on an obituary for Uncle Leo. June was always very sweet. I remember her hosting a few reunions for the family. You are in my prayers and thoughts.

I enjoyed visiting June at Brewster Village during the last few months. I would read scripture to her and then we would discuss. She was so ready to meet her Lord and Savior. Such a sweet lady. It was a honor to get to know her.
Praying for your family at this difficult time.

Junie...That's the name I remember from my earliest childhood.
The name came back again a year ago in late December 2018 when I was visiting my mother Alice Roemer at Brewster Village for rehabilitation.
The woman across the table from mom asked "Are you Alice Roemer"? and said "I'm June Schroeder and used to be your babysitter". I then added that she was MY BABYSITTER back in 1957 when she lived in the house next door to my parent's upper flat apartment on Spring Street and later on at our new Frances Street house near future Huntley School.
We all say that the world seems small at times. Its' especially true when you meet your babysitter 61 years later.
June recalled that she worked for my father for a while at his construction office, and how both mom and dad sang a duet at her wedding. I remember running into her occasionally growing up in Appleton and mom would remind me that "Junie" was my sitter.
Thanks for recalling my mom's voice and attitude, because I certainly do not look anything like who you cared for over 6 decades ago. It was a good visit.

June was my very first babysitter that I can remember.I recently was reacquainted with her at Brewster Village while my mom, Alice, was on the same rehab floor. June and I had time to reconnect and share stories. Such a sweet lady!
