Leola Lutz Obituary

Leola Anna Lutz

Leola Anna "Ollie" (Plamann) Lutz, age 99, passed away peacefully at home, with family present, on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 . She was born August 4, 1913 to the late George and Hulda (Springstroh) Plamann. Leola married George Lutz on July 2, 1942, and together they had five children. George preceded her in death in 1972.

Leola retired in 1978, after many years of service at Appleton Medical Center . She then volunteered in the Appleton Medical Center gift shop an additional 20 years. Leola loved baking, sewing, doing crafts, traveling and going fishing with her family. Later, as her health deteriorated, she loved to read, do puzzle books and watch the birds and squirrels at the feeders. And she always had the Packer game on!

Leola is survived by three sons: Warren (Barbara) Lutz, Garry (Teena) Lutz and Wayne (Sue) Lutz; two daughters: Nona (John) Weber and Coralee (Tom) Dike; 12 grandchildren, Jeff (Annette) Lutz, Craig Lutz, Jill (Brian) Adams, Melissa Lutz, Jamie Lutz, Risa (Chad) Janowski, Nicole (Craig) Silta, Greg (Deb) Weber, Andrew (Lauren) Weber, Kelly Dike, James Dike (fiancé Heidi Federwitz), Shelly Dike; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is further survived by her brother; Duane ( Charlotte ) Plamann, her sister; Ardene Weyenberg, as well as several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, brothers, Melvin Plamann and Wilmer Plamann; sisters Marcella Schommer, Bernice Techlin and Lois Stephani as well as many other family members and friends over the years.

A funeral service for Leola will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church Celebration Campus, 3100 E. Evergreen Drive , Appleton with Rev. Aaron Rosenow officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service, also at the Celebration Campus. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park , Appleton , on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Theda Care at Home Hospice nurses for their incredible care of Leola and her family these last few weeks.

Also, a special thank you to Dr. Bill Boots of Boots Chiropractic and his staff for their many years of caring for Leola.
