Linda Parsons Obituary

Linda Scott Parsons

On January 29, 2021 our loving, carefree, and gentle spirit, Linda Scott Parsons, at the age of 67, succumbed to cancer and was called to heaven where she was joyfully reunited with her beloved fur-buddies, Calem, Toony, and Taddy (Tadpole). She was able to do so in the comfort and peace of the house she had so lovingly and meticulously crafted into her own beautiful home. Her dear sister Pam was at her bedside when Heaven gained an angel but the light we all loved went out here on earth.

Linda was born on September 19, 1953 in San Francisco, California. We all called her our California girl, but she had made Wisconsin her home since 1985. One of her favorite things was socializing with friends at Green Bay Packer parties. In recent years, she had also adopted the nickname Anya which is of Russian origin and means favor, grace. It has a wonderfully simple quality. It is an elegant name that possesses great character and it reflected who she was.

The philosopher Heidegger believed the self is revealed by what we truly care about. She had strong convictions and was passionate on so many issues and was always true to them. Linda truly cared about everyone else before herself.

She had a beautiful soul and nature about her. She was honest, generous, loyal, compassionate, empathetic, and the best friend anyone could possibly wish for. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She seemed to have an infinite capacity to love.

To her dear friend, Jody, she was known as, "Our gypsy butterfly." Linda's significant other, Jeff, said it all so well, "She was loved and admired by everyone and never said unkind words towards anyone." Another friend, Phil, stated, "She had an energy about her that was attractive. "

She is survived by her mother, Renee Scott, her father and stepmother, Nathan and Deb, her sister Pam, two brothers, Cary and Nathan, and a half sister Nicole. In addition, she has one niece, Christina, and three nephews Jeremy, Nicolas, and Andrew all of whom she simply adored. Her family resides in California.

She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by her many, many friends. Some of those fortunate to call her "friend" include:

Mark Parsons, though ending their marriage and choosing different paths, they continued to remain very good friends. Rhonda & Andy Glew and their daughter Sophia of Portland, Oregon, dear friends. Jodi & Scott LaMarche and Karen & Kim Rudat, County Road A next store neighbors and best friends. Christina & Supakan Boontho, loving friends. Carrie, Brenda, Fran, Karianne, Laurie, and Theresa, her girlfriends who tightly bonded ever since being coworkers at the Kimberly Clark Fitness Center. The Lendrum Family. Elizabeth Margaret. Virginia & Jonathan, caring friends. Nancy Davis, Mary Moore, Karen Rudat, and Karen Schuman, her "Apples to Apples" and "Canasta" playing buddies. Kathy "Beth" Brobach and her sister Lynn. Penny & Jerry Scribner, friends and mentors. Beth and Greg Arft wonderful friends. Little Kathy, her lifelong friend (Texas).

Jeff Lendrum, her very special friend and partner.

Our dear sweet Linda, we are all so very grateful that you came into our lives and you will remain forever in our hearts. We know you are looking down and watching over all of us.

Linda's family would like to express a special thank you to the angels from Theda Care Hospice including Roberta and Ashley for the compassion and care they provided to Linda in her last few days on this earth, and especially Tonya, who with amazing love and care enabled Linda to be moved back into her home. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jeff Lendrum, Linda's partner, who did so much to care for her in those precious final days.

A memorial service will be held in California when it is considered safe to do so. Linda's ashes will then be scattered into the wind from atop Twin Peaks in San Francisco. When it is also safe, local celebrations will be held to gather together and share our wonderful, precious, and beautiful memories of Linda and to honor her life and love.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Neenah Animal Shelter or your local humane society in Linda's memory. She was spiritually attached to all of God's creatures.

I think about Linda-Anya EVERY day!! I have a gift from her around me everywhere! I take one if these gifts with me to EVERY friend gathering and make sure she is remembered by everyone. Which is easy when we start sharing Linda memories and have giant smiles on our faces or start laughing at our many antics. I also make sure she is along with us at every one of our group events ('cuz there's no way she'd miss them!) Miss you and LOVE you LindaLou!!

I didn't know until today :( Linda was the first person I met when I started working at Kimberly Clark in Fullerton, CA. She trained me on my new job. We instantly became close friends...she's a beautiful soul! We took basket weaving classes together, went to Santa Barbara various times with our BF's, and created some wonderful memories. I'm shocked and deeply saddened by this news that I just stumbled upon this day, June 17, 2021. Please let me know when her memorial service will be held. Sending love, comfort and peace to her family and friends...many if not all of whom I've met.

My deepest sympathies to Linda's family, friends, and loved ones. I'm heartbroken to hear of Linda's passing. I will always remember her as a truly special person, lovely in spirit and in soul. After every chance conversation with her, I always wished that we could have talked a bit longer. I'm sure that she touched many hearts as she did mine.

Bob & I are so saddened to hear of Linda's illness and passing. We go way back from KC-Fullerton in the late 70s and shared many weekends at Newport Beach to relax after a week of stress, catching rays and playing in the sand and water with co-workers from SS, Orders & Traffic Depts. that became dear friends. We were able to continue that friendship when she moved here after our 80's transfer. She took great pride in being "carded" long after we all were in our 30's & 40's! One of my favorite outings was with her up to The Weidner to see Gordon Lightfoot & learned that she has seen him over 10 times in over 35 yrs--an honest to God "Groupie"! The trip in the dark up 41 in her Mini for the evening show scared me so....my son's referred to her as "your hippy-friend, Linda" :) Our deepest condolences to her mom, (best former mother-in-law to Loukides, ever) who we met in Calif. and also to Pam and her other sibs. She took on Wisconsin Life with gusto and thoroughly enjoyed our nature here, free space, & her beloved pets, always. We'll miss you kid!

Linda took care of my sister in law following Lynn's early on set alzheimer's diagnosis. She became a treasured friend of our family and a treasured spirit of hope. When she realized coping with Lynn's disease was beyond he ability to cope, she connected us with wonderful women who would continue on Lynn's tragic path. Linda was creative, caring, and so loving. Our family shares my sincere expression of sadness, caring, and affection to all who loved her.

Please accept my sympathies. Linda was always kind, giving, and cheerful. I knew Linda from K-C. She also house-sat with our boys several times when I had to travel on business. I last met her on the sidewalk going into the K-C Health Center. I will miss her friendly, warm smile.

Linda had such a kind heart. She was soft spoken, always a smile on her face and hair that almost reached the floor. I worked with Linda at the K-C Health Center in the 90’s. RIP Linda, you will be missed.
