Margaret Krueger Obituary

Margaret Krueger

Margaret L. Krueger, 93, of Wausau, was born to eternal life on January 3, 2014 at Azura Memory Care, Wausau.

The youngest daughter of the late William and Anna (Traeger) Schmutzler, Margaret was born November 12, 1920 on the family 1864 homestead farm in the Town of Wausau.

On October 30, 1943, she married John E. Krueger at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wausau. After their marriage they lived on the Krueger family farm in the Town of Easton and Margaret later became an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Good Neighbors Homemakers Club. Her children and family members remember her homemade bread and coffee cake, flowers from her garden, and the love and kindness she shared with her family. After retirement in 1983, John and Margaret moved to Wausau. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wausau and participated in the "Young at Heart" group at that church.

Survivors include her son, the Rev. John W. Krueger and his wife, the Rev. Nancy A. Krueger, Menasha; her daughter, Mary M. Woellner and her husband, Steve Woellner, Wausau; grandchildren, J.C., Jennifer and Melissa; one great-granddaughter, McKenna; 4 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband John.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8th at Zion Lutheran Church, 608 Grant Street, Wausau. The Rev. Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow later that day at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Easton.
