Matthew Lenzner Obituary

Matthew Donald Lenzner

Appleton - Matthew Donald Lenzner passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 22nd, 2021 after losing his long-fought battle with addiction.

Matt was born to Jeff & Julie Lenzner on June 25th, 1992 in Appleton, WI. Matt had an adventurous heart that manifested itself in many camping trips around the state, countless fishing trips with the Lenzner men, a strong connection with the family black labs, and an appreciation of the Packers that was second to none. Matt also had a passion for the culinary arts and was a naturally gifted chef that loved to cook for anyone with an empty stomach. Most of all, Matt loved spending time with his family and was very proud of his latest title, Uncle Matt. For those that knew Matt, he had a personality that could light up a room, a laugh that was contagious, and a heart of gold.

Matt is survived by his parents Jeffrey (Anne) Lenzner, and Julie Lenzner; his siblings Katlynn (Roman) Reynebeau, and Dan (Molly) Lenzner; and his cherished niece and nephews Leo, August, and Alivia; he is further survived by his grandparents Beverly Vandenberg and Donald (Sandra) Lenzner along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Dellas Vandenberg.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jason, his longtime mentor, who was a steady support system for Matt and helped him navigate his addiction struggles.

Matt is now at peace and will be deeply missed by all. We will always cherish the many memories that we experienced together.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 at the Valley Funeral Home in Appleton, WI. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm with a service following immediately after.

The service will be live streamed on the Valley Funeral Home Facebook page and can be viewed from the following link: http://www.facebook.com/Valley-Funeral-Home-938408146238680.

So sad to hear about Matt. He was always one of my favorites when the kids were in school. He had a heart of gold, sense of fair play and a huge personality. I am glad I got to watch him grow up. He is free now.

We would just like to send our condolences to your family. We pray that you feel Gods peace and comfort knowing Matt is happy now and one day you will see him again. We will never forget Matt and his huge heart and smile that made everyone around him happy! He was always my favorite kid to have over at our house because he had such a genuine, honest personality while always making us all laugh. I enjoyed our visits from Matt as he’d ask me to make some cookies as the kids would all just hang out playing games or sitting by a fire. He was the sweetest kid with the biggest heart always looking out for others, our daughter Michaela was one so fortunate. He was like her brother to her and we will always be grateful and remember him for always being one of her very best friends caring about her and cheering her on at volleyball games. He was the best kid bringing so much love to others. We are so heartbroken and pray you to find comfort that only God can provide through sharing the beautiful memories of such a beautiful son as Matt. He had a beautiful soul, one we’ll always remember.
