Michael Currie Obituary
Michael L Currie, 50, of Appleton, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. He was the first baby born in Appleton on January 1, 1966, son of the late Robert and Marge (Prahl) Currie. Michael married Faith "Anne" Hamilton in 1992. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2012.
Michael was a self-employed body man who masterfully crafted and restored classics, new and old. He loved working on and driving his hot rods and motorcycles, and putting a smile on the face of everyone he spent time with. He touched the heart of everyone he knew, especially the friends that he lovingly considered his 'other' brothers and sisters.
Michael is survived by his love, Jennie; his son Michael (Allison), daughters Megan (Ryan) and Mykayla; and grandchildren Izaya and Faith. He is further survived by his brother Jon (Cyndi) Porter, sisters Robin Miller and Kelly (Jan) Buck; and many nieces and nephews.
The family extends special thanks to Ted Haley, Judge Krueger, and the people of Genesis house and the Mooring House for supporting and encouraging him in his efforts to free himself from his demons and embrace his true self.
A memorial service for Michael will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 29th at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with the Reverend Patrick Ryan officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established on gofundme.com to help with Michael's final expenses.
