I want to say I still have a vivid recollection of my interaction with Robert at OGS. For me that is an unusual situation. I think of Bob every time I look at the finger tip markings from pricking my finger tips to get a blood sample for a glucose meter reading. Bob and I would compare our scaring and Bob being a far more conscientious tester would always have a more impressive pattern of test marks. I specifically remember our conversations and his advice as I try to improve my target shooting. I remember him every time I allow my daily routine on glucose control to be altered and the after effects of those changes. I don't want to bore you with my experiences. I just want Bob's children and grandchildren to know that besides his many professional accomplishments he had lasting and positive effect one and people like me.
I hope he is looking down on all of us and I hope he is enjoying some of the very positive developments that have occurred in the field of diabetes. I'm sure like it was for many others it was a pleasure to know him and learn from him.

I had the pleasure of working with Robert at O.G.S. I relied on his advice on both work issues and his encouragement in battling diabetes. I offer my sincere sympathy to all who will miss his presence in their lives.
