Ronald Kraus Obituary

Ronald L. Kraus

Ron Kraus, age 73, passed away on Friday morning, February 15, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on April 27, 1939, son of the late Roman and Myrtle (Miller) Kraus. He married the former Marian Hein on May 25, 1960; Marian preceded him in death in May of 2009. For many years, Ron worked for John Strange Paper Company, and retired from Metso as a machinist. He loved the outdoors, fishing, especially for muskies and salmon, and gardening. His entire neighborhood knew when he had a good day fishing, because his smokehouse would be going full steam! He also loved the Packers, Brett Farve and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt.

Ron is survived by two daughters: Dawn (Randy) West of Hastings, Minnesota and Laura (Todd) Manley of New London; a son-in-law: Marvin Hill of Tomah; seven grandchildren: Rochelle, Marvin, and Marissa of Madison; Nicole and Tarina of New London; and Brandon and Luke of Hastings; six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Jack Parr of Virginia; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents: Roman Kraus and Myrtle Kraus Schanke, his loving wife Marian, a daughter Sherry Kraus Hill, and a sister Gloria Parr.

The funeral service for Ron will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2012 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street in Menasha, with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

Ron will be forever in our hearts.
