Therese Wankey Obituary
Appleton - On Sunday, March 22, 2021, our beautiful, "free spirit", Terri passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI. Terri was born in Waupaca, WI on June 27, 1952 to Nobert R. and Mary Jane (Chouinard) Lauer.
Growing up on Broad St. in Menasha, Terri never lacked friends or companions having seven siblings. Terri graduated from Menasha High School in 1970 and went to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for two years. She married the late Keith Wankey on June 28, 1982. They later divorced, but even then, remained friends. During Terri's lifetime she worked at Mihm's Restaurant, R. Sabee Co. and Goodwill Industries. She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Terri was a voracious reader. She loved dogs, especially her Coco, the Packers, nature, collecting rocks and seashells. Terri and her sister, Patty, were not only sisters but best friends and inseparable companions.
Terri leaves behind her family: Greg (Sally) Lauer, Norb (Karen) Lauer, John (Anne) Lauer, and Patty Lauer; in-laws: Sue McKendry and Joe Knuijt; goddaughter: Kelly (Jon) Berg; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her dear friends, Jane Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Leon Lauer, Mary Vandehey, Kathy Knuijt; sister-in-law: Toni Lauer; and nephew: Ben Lauer.
No funeral will be held, instead a "Celebration of Terri's Life" will be held on her birthday, Sunday, June 27, 2021. For further details, please contact family members.

MY deepest sympathies to Terri's family when she was married and lived on 8th street I was the papergirl and would stop and talk to her for a little bit and talked about alot of subjects she was always one of my favorites and she will be missed
