Vivian Burbey, age 86, a resident of Eagle River, WI since 1994, formerly of Long Lake, WI, where she lived most of her life, died at her home surrounded by her family, Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at her home. She was born June 14, 1928, in Appleton, WI, to Carl and Bertha Sonkowsky. Vivian worked as a Post Master in Long Lake for many years, after moving to Eagle River she worked at Trig's in the deli. She was an entrepreneur. She spent all her free time with her family. She was loving cared for by her daughter Esther for many years. She was a member of Abundant Life Church in Eagle River.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Les in 1986 and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughters, Linda (Larry) Halada of Long Lake, WI; Esther Nowak, Jennifer (Jerry) Burkett both of Eagle River, WI; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation was held from Noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Appleton Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI. The family would appreciate memorials to Dr. Kate Hospice P.O.
