My earliest memory of my brother Joe was organizing games into a competitive tournament on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. He would draw up a chart with our brackets, and the tournament would last all day long. I was only about 6 and Joe would have been 16 years old. He taught me how to play checkers so I could participate in the tournament. While some of us kids where doing our checker games, Joe would also have others playing chest or monopoly, etc. He always included everyone. I thought of my big brother as a leader and organizer at home. I also thought of him as a handsome, smart, and popular at school because he was a football star. I remember going to a college night football game at Caldwell or Nampa, ID. to see Joe play. This was a big deal to get to see Joe play football. He caught the kick off and ran with the football for 98 yards for a touch down. Our family screamed with excitement.
I remember Joe as a loving Father. He was always so proud of his 7 beautiful children. The family worked hard on the farm, but I also remember Joe playing ball with the kids in their yard.
I will always remember his kindness of including our baby sister, Debbie, when they would do family activities as she was the same as Joe's oldest child.
It is my testimony that you are having a grand reunion with parents our in the spirit world. Love, Penny
