Duane Siddoway Obituary

Duane Kay Siddoway, 65, passed away on March 28, 2026, surrounded by those he loved, after a 12 1/2-year battle with cancer. He was born October 8, 1960, to Ralph Wayne Siddoway and Diane Kay Avery Siddoway, the oldest of six children. He grew up in the Rigby, Rexburg, and Sugar City areas, with most of his childhood spent in Archer/Sunnydell, where he developed a lifelong love of horses, sports, the outdoors, and friendships that endured.

At age eight, Duane underwent open-heart surgery for an atrial septal defect, an experience that shaped his resilience throughout life. He attended Madison High School, where he played football, worked tirelessly, and was known for his leadership, generosity, and mischievous spirit.

Duane served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Italy Catania Mission beginning in 1979, where he gained an enduring testimony of the gospel and eternal families. He married his high school sweetheart, Alicia Griffeth, on March 26, 1982, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Duane and Alicia lived in Washington, Colorado, California, and Idaho while raising their family. Duane worked hard to provide for them and served faithfully in many church callings, including twice as Young Men's President and later as Bishop of the Mill Hollow 2nd Ward in Rexburg from 2012 to 2018-service he considered among the greatest blessings of his life.

He devoted countless hours to coaching youth sports and mentoring young people, often reminding them to "Make an IMPACT." His impact was felt deeply by family, friends, athletes, and all he served. In later years, Duane and Alicia returned to the Siddoway family farm east of Rigby, where he delighted in country life, horses, and time with grandchildren.

Duane was preceded in death by his son, Duane Kay Siddoway Jr.; his niece, Presley Sullenger; and his mother, Diane Kay Avery Siddoway.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alicia; his father, Ralph Wayne Siddoway; siblings Trent (Jodi) Siddoway, Cindy (Rodd) Erikson, Randy (Karen) Siddoway, Dax (Melissa) Siddoway, and Nichole (Cameron) Stanford; children Avery (Stephen) Merrell, Tiana (Drake) Atwood, Kyle (Brittany) Siddoway, Jaymin (Burgandie) Siddoway, and Bryson (Paige) Siddoway; and eight beloved grandchildren.

Duane's life was one of faith, service, hard work, and love. His impact will be felt for generations.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7th at the Sunnydell LDS Chapel at 11:00 am. Viewing will be held on Monday, April 6 at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg from 5:30-7:00 pm and prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am.
