David "Dave" Claire Wilmot, 56, of Rigby, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at his home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lonzo Nelson Wilmot and Eleanore Doris Washburn Wilmot. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Skyline High School. He later attended Eastern Idaho Technical College.
In 1971, he married Ruthie Waite in Salt Lake City. Together, they had three children. He subsequently married Terri Poage in Jackson, Wyo., in 1982. They also had three children. He married Laura Axford on Sept. 28, 2005, in Bridger Teton National Forest.
He worked in the shoe business and was an owner of Hudson's Shoes in Idaho Falls and Rexburg, Idaho. He continued working as a distinguished salesman most of his life.
Dave enjoyed flying RC planes, hunting, target shooting, reloading, photography and fishing.
His family was always especially dear to his heart, and he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Axford of Wakeman, Ohio; daughters, Apryl (Randy) Jensen of American Fork, Utah, Lani (Steve) Randle of Germany and Megan Wilmot of Idaho Falls; sons, Zeke Wilmot of Tooele, Utah, and Nick Wilmot and John Wilmot, both of Idaho Falls, sisters, Yvonne (David) Schjeldahl of Idaho Falls and Debra (Tom) Jasper of Enumclaw, Wash.; brother, Gary Wilmot of Idaho Falls; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Calvary Chapel, 4250 S. 25th East in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends and a viewing will be held one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N.
