Hanni Elabed Obituary

Hanni Mohammad Elabed, 26, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, in the ICU unit of Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 7, 1986, in Idaho Falls, to Mohammad Elabed and Amineh Liftawi Elabed. Hanni was the fifth of six children and grew up living between Idaho Falls and Palestine. He attended Idaho Falls High School and Bonneville High School.

Hanni would go to work with his dad when he was a small child. He later worked with both his dad and his brother in the car industry. He worked at East Side Auto Sales and Right Price Auto.

He was planning on returning to Palestine to visit his extended family.

Hanni loved to be the mechanic, computer technician and electronic specialist for his family. Everyday he was planning an adventure, including boating, fishing, snowmobiling, camping or riding his ATVs with his dad, brothers or friends. He loved to be outdoors.

Hanni found humor in every situation; he was a natural comedian. He went out of his way to help someone in need and was constantly looking for ways to make the people he loved happy. Hanni had the most tender of hearts, and he loved to laugh. He loved his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles very much and expressed his love by making them laugh, and in his Uncle Jamal's case, by teasing and antagonizing him. He had an amazing way with animals.

The most memorable thing about Hanni was that he wanted everyone to be happy.

Survivors include his parents, Mohammad and Amineh Elabed of Palestine; brothers, Zahe (Rasha) Elabed and their children, Jad, Jawad and Jenna, and Mohanad (Anwar) Elabed and their children, Yasser, Amir and Lilly, all of Idaho Falls; sisters, Ibtihaj (Mustafa) Odeh and their children, Mohammad, Ahmad, Mahmood, Mohanad, MuAyad, Hanni, Sari, Haneen, Ghadeer and Hadeel, Zuha (Ismaeel) Odeh and their children Suhaib, Mohammad, Zahe, Adam, Shatha and Shahd, all of Palestine, and Tahane (Adam) Elabed Hult of Idaho Falls; uncle, Jamal Abdalla (his favorite guy to tease); cousin, Mohammad Abdalla; and friends, Brandon and Shawn.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Abdul Raheem; grandmother, Adeeba Liftawi; uncle, Hussein Raheem; aunt, Wafeeka Liftawi; and two cousins, Naji and Muawiya.

During the week of June 18, a traditional Muslim funeral will be held in Hanni's honor in his family's hometown of Der Ammar, Palestine.
