Larry Lynn Holverson, 57, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
He was born April 13, 1951, in Idaho Falls, to John Henry and Bertha Selma Wilke Holverson. He attended Whittier grade school, Central Junior High School, O.E.
Bell and Skyline High School through the 11th grade. Larry obtained his GED and then attended vocational college, where he received an apprenticeship certificate of completion in sheet metal.
He married Krys King in 1967 in Idaho Falls. They later divorced. He married Maria Manary on Sept. 27, 1975, in Idaho Falls. He worked at the North Hiway Caf, Westbank and as a sheet metal worker at the site for 25 years.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He loved yard work, scenic drives, family and animals. He loved to joke and laugh and always had a smile on his face, no matter what.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Holverson of Idaho Falls; son, Todd Holverson of Idaho Falls; daughter, Daughter Teresa (Ricky) Loyd of Idaho Falls; brothers, Dennis (Carolyn) Wilkie and John (Darleen) Holverson, both of Idaho Falls; sister, Bonnie (Roy) Young of Toledo, Wash.; brother, Darrell (Marilyn) Holverson of Pocatello; and Donna Daniels of Idaho Falls; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Holverson; daughter, Valarie Holverson; son, David Miles; and sister, Larraine Holverson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 145 Ninth St. in Idaho Falls, with the Rev. Joe McDonald as celebrant. Burial will be in the Ammon City Cemetery in Ammon. A viewing for family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls. I absolutely loved and will miss my uncle deeply. I would run into him at the drug store all the time and I could count on a smile and a hug no matter what was going on. I have peace knowing his pain is no longer and he is with his parents and children right now.
