Max (Mic) Arthur Rowberry, 75, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home under the loving care of family, NCP and Signature Hospice.
Mic was born Nov. 16, 1942, to Glen Max Rowberry and Bonita Lambson. His parents divorced when he was very young, and he lived with his grandma and grandpa Rowberry while his dad was stationed in Japan. When his father returned from Japan, Mic was raised by his dad and stepmom, Artell Rowberry, until he was 16. At that time, he returned to live with his grandparents.
Mic attended Idaho Falls High School and graduated with the class of 1961 while stationed in Vietnam. While in high school, Mic excelled at music and art. He was artistic his whole life.
Mic married DyAnne Labaugh Anderson in 1965 and had two beautiful children, Bryan and Cyndi Rowberry. Mic and DyAnne were later divorced. He married Janet Davis Anderson and loved his stepsons, Ken and Mike. They were also later divorced.
In 2001, he married Rena Daw Ciccone. He gained a daughter and her family at that time, Sarah Ciccone Everly.
Mic served in Vietnam with the 116th Combat Engineers from 1968 through 1969. To his fellow Veterans he would often say, "Welcome home brother!" or "Thank you for your service!" He had a heart of gold and understood that sacrifice. Mic worked 30 years for the Idaho National Laboratory and took pride in his perseverance. He was a very determined person. He always had projects he was working on at home, and besides his own projects, he was always so willing and happy to help anyone else who needed his service.
He loved the feeling of riding his motorcycles and also loved that he was able to buy his baby blue '66 GTO convertible. He loved that car, motorcycles and music (guitars in particular). He rode many years with veteran motorcycle groups, and his biker name was "Wambli."
Mic had a gift of talking with people and making them friends. He had amazing stories from his varied experiences and was delightful to listen to. He laughed easily and was always kind. He was able to find humor in any situation and express it with few, but powerful words. He was aware of others and always reached out to those on the outside.
Mic loved his family deeply and supported his grandchildren in every way and took pride in their accomplishments. He had a lot of good times at football, basketball, track, baseball, choir, karate and other outings.
Mic is survived by his wife, Rena; children: Cyndi King, of Boise; Bryan and Amber Rowberry, of Pocatello; and Sarah and Dennis Everly, of Idaho Falls; brother, David (Janis) Rowberry, of Henderson Nevada; sister-in-law, Jacquie Claire Vernon, of British Columbia; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter (he showed Addie's picture to everybody!).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Max Rowberry and Artell Rowberry; stepfather, John Dalling; mother, Bonita Lambson; and half brothers, Cai and Redge Noble.
Family will visit with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Hawker Funeral Home, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at American Legion Hall. Truly sorry for your loss, I knew and work with Mic for 30 years, he was a man to ride the river with. Lots of stories over the years and a lot of good times. A true artist, he once had me cut a twisted, knotted 4ix4 for the Eagle that only he could see.
