Michael Blake "Mike" Cutler, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at his home of complications due to cancer and Parkinson's disease. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Mike was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Idaho Falls, to Del Blair Cutler and Nellie Blake Hendricksen Cutler. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended Idaho State University.
On June 27, 1958, he married Barbara Jean Chadwick in Blackfoot. To this union were born four children: Troy Ann, Todd, Josh and Zane.
Mike and Jean made their home in Idaho Falls, where he worked as a machinist in research and development for Bombardier West and Precision Boats. Mike was well known throughout the industry for his innovative work on high performance snowmobiles.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Eagle's Lodge. He liked fast cars, snowmobiles, motorcycles and making anything go fast. He enjoyed golf, fishing and camping.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Cutler of Idaho Falls; sons, Todd Cutler of Sandy, Utah, Josh (Maralee) Cutler of Idaho Falls and Zane (Nanci) Cutler of Idaho Falls; three grandchildren, McKenzie, Kaden and Shaylee; and brother, David (Michele) Cutler of Idaho Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Troy Ann Cutler; and a sister, Shannon Crofts.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Eagles Lodge, 635 Hemmert Ave.
