TERRETON -- Yvonne Williams Murdock, 72, of Terreton, died Dec. 31, 2007, at her home of cancer.
She was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Treasureton, Idaho, to J. Thomas and Thelda Maurine Jackson Williams. She graduated from Roberts High School, attended Ricks College for two years and received a bachelor's degree from BYU.
She married Sterling "Bud" Murdock Jr. in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She taught kindergarten through fourth grade for 37 years. She cooked at Mitch Jacobs Ranch in Island Park, worked as a potato harvest crew manager and raised baby calves and bum lambs.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several capacities, including visiting teacher, Relief Society teacher and as a committee chairperson in Scouting. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning and farming. Most of all, Yvonne loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Shelma (Kent) Miskin, Janice (Kirt) Williams, Dale Murdock, Mark (Michelle) Murdock, Craig (Kellie) Murdock, Terry (Rona) Murdock and Dan (Karen) Murdock; and siblings, Donna (Vernon) Jensen, Sharon (Jim) Park, Elizabeth (Wayne) Pennell, Darrel (Ila) Williams and Bruce (Leona) Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling "Bud" Alva Murdock; brother, J. Thomas Williams Jr. and a grandson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Terreton LDS Stake Center with Bishop Wade Yearsley officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday before services, both at the church. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family suggests memorial donations to the Hamer Lions Club.
