We are never prepared for a death like this. Abby was almost part of our family, being engaged to our grandson, Shane Grant. She left without finishing her tattoos on Shane. Knowing Shane, those tattoos will remain as the are until Shane meets Abby in Heaven for Abby to finish those tattoos.

I saw the headlines about Abigail in the Houston news. I left the 82nd Airborne in 1978 and shuttered when I learned how she passed. I'm so very sorry this happened!! Surely, the entire world became a little colder and more bitter with Abigail's passing. May God bless her, her family and friends.

I was so very sorry to hear about your loss. I met Abby at Saratoga High School where I work. She became a regular visitor of my office. She would sit and talk of future plans, her smile lighting up the room. I was so proud of her when she joined the Army, and extremely impressed when she joined the Airborne division. She was a fine young woman growing into her own, taken way too soon. My condolences to her family, friends and fiancé.
