Adam Darrah Obituary

Adam M. Darrah

May 1, 2006 - May 22, 2025

GLENS FALLS - Adam M. Darrah, 19, of Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Born May 1, 2006, in Glens Falls, he was the beloved son of Angelique Darrah and Phillip Martelle, Jr.

Adam attended Glens Falls High School and throughout the years acquired several friends that became family. He will forever be remembered for his loving heart, sense of humor, and loyalty. Adam had a heart of gold and would do anything for those who had the privilege of being loved by him.

He was the fiercest protector of his family and friends. While reminiscing with his friends, they said, "Adam always had our backs!" His joy in life was spending time with those he loved - his family and friends.

Although fiercely independent and stubborn, Adams soft spot was always his mother. To Adam, there was no greater love than the love he had for her. With everything in his life, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for her. She was Adam's safe space.

Adam adored his dad and the two spent numerous times hunting and fishing together and with his dad's friends. He enjoyed working with his dad and Papa Rusty every chance he could.

Adam was predeceased by his loving nana, Dolores Darrah.

Those left to honor Adam's memory are his parents, Angelique Darrah and Phillip (Nina) Martelle; his sister, Ashley Lewry (Dakota); his brother, Trevor Getty; stepbrother, Troy Matteson; stepsister, Abigail Matteson; his beloved papa's, David Darrah and Rusty Martell; his grandmother, Lynn Martelle (Ernie); his ever so handsome, loving nephew, Nathan; and his adoring cousin, Ryleigh. Adam is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Adams life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Carleton Funeral Home.

It's weird to think that at some point I'll be grieving you longer than I got to know you. You were always there when I needed you and reminded me that life gets hard sometimes but that doesn't mean it's over, I'm so grateful that I got the chance to know you. I understand everything happens for a reason but there's no way heaven could've needed you more than any of the ones who loved you do now. I love you so much and I hope you're at peace now.

The first memories that come to my mind when I think of Adam are the many sleepovers with our Papa Rusty as kids, Adam was an energetic kid that loved everything and everybody. Though we weren´t close by any means, Adam´s loyalty had the power to move mountains. His heart big enough to hold the sky. The greatest memory I have of Adam is actually our last time together, my mom had a seizure and Adam sprung to action to assist, I don´t know what would have happened had he not been there. He was a kid that was going to prove every statistic wrong, he would´ve shown the world what he could do. My prayers and love are with my family more than ever. I love you all, Adam, I will see you again one day buddy.-J
