Angela Noel Obituary

JOHNSBURG * Angela "Angie" (Allen) Noel, 51, of Garnet Lake Road North, Johnsburg, went into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday evening, Sept. 26, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her many loved ones.

Born Angela Rose Allen on Nov. 21, 1954, at Glens Falls Hospital, she was the beloved daughter of Rose Dorothea (Dalaba) Allen of Johnsburg and the late Lester Earl Allen, who passed away March 22, 1986.

After graduating from Johnsburg Central School, Angie continued some college courses in the field of nursing.

Shortly after being united in marriage to Frank Noel at the Bakers Mills Wesleyan Church on May 11, 1985, by her brother, Rev. Ronald Allen, the young couple moved to Rome, N.Y., where Frank was stationed while in the Air Force. They also ventured out to California for a while, where Frank's parents lived before moving back to the Johnsburg area, November of 1991.

Her employment included working at various motels as a chambermaid, at the Tri-County Nursing Home as a nurse's aide, and for years, sat with numerous people in their homes as a private care home health aide, but her greatest job, which she performed with utmost pride, was being a homemaker, caring for her family and friends.

Her siblings and their families always remained extremely close and often would use football, NASCAR, or whatever excuse they could find for a family get-together, exchanging home-cooked food, laughter, and cherished memories.

Angie also loved flowers, plants, gardening in general, and was an avid book reader, especially reading her Bible and love stories. She also had a great talent in writing poetry, which was not only enjoyed by friends and family, but also brought great comfort to many readers on the Internet.

She was an extremely giving person, who always was looking out for the betterment of others. She didn't know an enemy, and people she met the second time were never strangers.

Angie was a faithful member at the Sodom Community Church, often singing specials, even as frail as she was just two weeks prior to her passing, to benefit the congregation.

Besides her devoted husband of 21 years, Frank Noel and her loving mother, Rose Allen, both of Johnsburg, survivors include one daughter, Naomi Noel, age 16, and one son, Timothy Noel age 20, and his fianceé, Cassie Thissell, age 19, all of Johnsburg; her first grandchild on the way, which would have brought such pride and joy to Angie; two sisters, Pamela Mulligan and her husband, Gene, and Carol Lewis and her husband, Roger, all of Johnsburg; five brothers: L. Duaine Allen and his wife, Pamela, of Wellsboro, Pa., Ronald Allen and his wife, Kathleen, of Johnsburg, Timothy Allen and his wife, Cindy, of Queensbury, Kenneth Allen and his wife, Rosalie, of North Creek, and Roy Allen and his wife, Julia, of Lacona, N.Y.; her mother and father-in-law, Timothy and Tamae Noel of Riverside, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Aileen Noel also of Riverside and Linda Noel of Arizona; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends including her four-legged friends, Busta "Buster" and Sharpie.

Friends may call upon the family Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sodom Community Church, Sodom Cross Road, Johnsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. at the church following the calling hours, with Angie's brother, the Rev. Ronald Allen, pastor of the Sodom Community Church, officiating.

Burial will take place at the Wesleyan Cemetery, Garnet Lake Road.

Friends are invited to join the family for a gathering, in reflection of Angie's life, at the Boy's Scout Hall following the committal service.

Donations may be made, in loving memory of Angie, to the Sodom Community Church, c/o Jane Nevins, 2850 St. Route 8, North Creek, NY, 12853.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Adirondack Cancer Care, the Broad Street Dialysis Center, and to the staff on T2 and 4-Central at the Glens Falls Hospital for all of their care and comfort given to Angie.

Condolences may be e-mailed to www.bakerfuneralhome.com, or mailed to Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY, 12804.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Frank,

I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Angie's passing. I had no idea she was not doing well. Nolan and Laura did not take the news well at all. They so fondly remember her as their "favorite" babysitter. I am so sorry for your loss. Angie was a very loving, special lady.
