Ellen and I were so saddend to hear the news of Barb and Mary's death. Barb was a very talented and dedicated music educator and musician. I had the extreme pleasure of working with Barb at Whitehall High. In the short time that she was there, I grew to know a gentle person with so many different interests from music to antiquing. She and Mary graciously opened their home to me on a few occasions before our concerts and Barb and Mary's personalities filled the house. It was grand! Ellen and I were out of town when the funeral took place. Please accept our sincerest condolences and know that Barb and Mary are both in our thoughts, as well as the family.

My heart just broke when I heard the news that Barb and Mary would not get to enjoy their new adventure together. I am thankful for the joy and love they brought to all of us who worked with or played with them. Let us think of them whenever we hear the joyful sound of young voices... their influence, love and joy being multiplied and spread forever through music.

Barb, your patience, hard work, inspired musicianship, and good humor were 'instrumental' to the success of the Lake Region musicals we played. Being in 'the pit' was never 'the pits' with you there. Lunch at the Candlepin on teacher in-service days--you never ordered the tapioca!--won't be the same without you, but I'll forward your regards to Nova Scotia and listen to some live Celtic music the next time I'm there. Peace be with you, Barb.

I had the joy of working with Barb on our school musicals for many years. She spent so many hours - countless, really - at rehearsals, and had a great talent for teaching our cast (many of whom had never sung on stage in their life!) how to 'open up their voice'. We all counted on her knowledge, talent and enthusiasm - our shows would never have been the successes they have been without her at the piano.
Keep music in your heart, Barb, now and forevermore...

Barb was a collegue and my son's music teacher. She was a wonderful teacher and my son learned to appreciate music at a different level with her as a teacher. They recently had their music concert and he sang the yellow submarine. His comment to her was that he didn't think the kids in his third grade class really appreciated the Beatles the way that they did.

I taught with Barb at the Brownington Central School. Her love of children and passion for music were always very apparent and the children responded accordingly. Barb is adding her angelic voice to the heavenly host. My deepest sympathies as your family goes through this incredibly challenging time.

It was such a shock to hear about Barb and her mom, and my wishes and thoughts of peace and comfort go to you. Just as she was starting this new chapter of her life, and was so excited about it; it is just so hard to believe. I teach at Irasburg School, and so appreciated Barb's talents and love of music and her enjoyment of the kids she taught. I always was trying to get her to come to a shape note sing, but she was always so busy with her own musical pursuits, we could never find a time that worked! I was so impressed with how close and devoted Barb was to her mom. Her memory and spirit will live on in us all. My sincere sympathy to you all.

May I express my sympathy for your loss, Barb was such a special woman and teacher. I certainly enjoyed our visits and exchange of ideas, as a fellow teacher there was a mutual respect and admiration. This news was so heart wrenching when I received it, for our last conversation before the school year ended, was about how she was so looking forward to this new adventure. Instead, she is an angel watching over all of us. I for one will keep her life story as I know it being told. God Bless you all.

Barb was so loved by my Kindergarten class. They loved the musical games that she played with them, and I enjoyed her enthusiasm for teaching. Barb was a very special lady who will be missed by many. However, the angels are rejoicing with her right now as she sings with joy for eternity. I pray for God's comfort for all of you.

My heart goes out to the Willett family. I worked with Barb at the Irasburg School. We enjoyed many lunches together talking about her wonderful family. I have 2 daughters who enjoyed Ms. Willett's music class very much. My youngest is a bit shy and didn't like singing in class at first but thanks to Barb she sings to the top of her lungs in the shower all the time now.
My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

I worked with Barb at the Irasburg School. I had lunch with her and some other friends on Fridays. She spoke often of her family. She shared some of the fun trips she took to see her family. I hope you all know she loved her family very much. We will always remember her as a great teacher but also as a wonderful friend.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to lifes routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of your family and friends. God Bless, Joanne Cleveland

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Willett family. I am a paraeducator at Irasburg Village School. I ate lunch with Barb on Fridays. Some days she would play the piano before her next class came in and I truly enjoyed listening to her play. She was a talented lady. May you all find peace in the coming days.

My deepest sympathies go out to Barb's family. I was at a loss for words when I heard what had happen. I worked with Barb at the Albany Communtiy School and I have a little sister who always looked forward to music with Barb at the Brownington Central School. Every week my sister and I both looked forward to sharing the songs and games she taught with eachother. Thanks to Barb and her passion for music I will continue to share all the wonderful songs she has taught us and will think of all the laughter and smiles she brought to so many children's faces. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am sorry for your loss. Barb was a great person. Know that my prayers are with you all. Barb was a believer and she is now doing her singing in God's House. I have known Barb since she started teaching music at the Irasburg Village School. She was always humming or sometimes dancing around. You could tell how much she loved her music. The students hated to see her go. I will always remember her last day of music classes with the children; the tears, the smiles, the hugs. They sang and danced taking up the entire gym. I will always remember her great performances she created with the children. She will be missed by all she came in contact with. You have my blessings.

May God grant your family peace at this time. I teach at Irasburg School and have had the pleasure of knowing Barb for the past 5 years. We spent many Friday lunches venting to each other our daily frustrations and sharing stories of our families. Barb was an awesome lady and a great friend. I will miss her smile so much. If there is anything that I can do, please let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

My heart and prayers go out to you all. We have some great memories of Barb and Mary. Barb and I were very good friends and this tragic news brought back many memories. Some were things Mary would not have approved of, but we managed to hide them from her(or so we thought). I remember us both being band nerds, parties where we had to stumble up the hill, and pooper condoning them all.We could also bet on Barb slipping down the Saunders St. hill in the winter-usually on her butt. I will miss them both, but at least they will be together forever-as it should be.

Barb and Mary were very special ladies. I worked with both of them at Grand Union, at one time or another, and also played with Barb in Castleton Wind Ensemble many years ago. They will be missed and my thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
