Carmel Hurtubis Obituary

WHITEHALL * Carmel "Minnie" Hurtubis, 91, a former resident of Mountain Street, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at the Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness.

Born in 1915, in Smith Basin, she was the daughter of the late Fred Young and Caroline (Caputo) Young Di Domenico.

She was an employee for 15 years for C.R. Bard Catheter. After retiring, she traveled to Italy and Jerusalem.

She was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church in Whitehall.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leo Hurtubis, who died in 1969; one brother, Carmen Young, sisters, Beatrice Pucci and Christine Di Domenico.

She is survived by her sisters, Ann Di Domenico Warrick, Rose Di Domenico Di Benedetto and Mary Di Domenico Morin, one brother, Anthony Di Domenico and several niece, nephews and cousins; her caregivers, Daniel and Carol Gordon and family and Douglas and Carol Rocque and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall with Father David LeFort, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 Williams St., Whitehall, on Friday, April 27, 2007, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Orchards Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granville where she has been a resident since November 2006.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation in her name to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 9 Wheeler Avenue, Whitehall, NY 12887.
