Colleen Theresa Johnson
Colleen Theresa Johnson, age 56, passed away after a brief illness with her immediate family at her bedside on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Albany Medical Center.
Colleen lived her entire life in Glens Falls, N.Y., a place she loved and proudly called home. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy Class of 1987 and Albany College of Pharmacy in 1992. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a pharmacist at Glens Falls Hospital. Her work was more than a profession-it was an extension of her compassion and commitment to helping people.
Family was everything to Colleen. She was deeply proud to be part of a large Irish Catholic family, a source of constant joy, connection, and tradition in her life. She poured her heart into loving her nieces and nephews, and especially her great-nephew, Levi, who brought her endless joy. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and her love for her family was unwavering and strong.
Colleen was passionate about golf and loved sports of all kinds. Some of her greatest accomplishments were winning Club Championships at Kingsbury National Golf Club and Queensbury Country Club. She was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, enjoyed being part of a football board, and cheered enthusiastically for Syracuse Basketball. Known for her incredible heart and her gift for telling a long-winded story, Colleen brought laughter, warmth, and connection wherever she went. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Colleen was predeceased by her beloved father, Daniel "Dango" Johnson, whom she loved fiercely. The family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with him after 26 years of missing him.
She is survived by her loving mother, Maureen Johnson; and her siblings: David (Colleen) Johnson, Shannon (Steve) LaBarge, Danny (Laura) Johnson, Bridget (Matt) Strosnider, and Kevin (Lori) Johnson; along with her cherished nieces, nephews, great-nephew, and extended family.
Colleen's legacy is one of love, loyalty, faith, and family. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and the stories that will continue to be told with smiles and love.
The family would like to thank her co-workers at Glens Fall Hospital whom she cherished and loved, all the family and friends of the Johnsons that have surrounded us with prayers and kindness, and the entire staff of the Surgical ICU at Albany Medical Center.
