Forrest Farley Obituary

CHESTERTOWN -- Forrest S. Farley, 53, of Pine Street, was delivered into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, July 28, 2006, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on March 28, 1953, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Robert E. Farley and the late Beula (Bell) Farley.

Forrest was a graduate of South Glen Falls High School and attended Adirondack Community College.

For several years, he was a draftsman for Kamyr in Glens Falls and more recently worked construction for Bill Roe in Queensbury.

Being an avid outdoorsman, he was a past member of the ADK. Forrest loved to hike, canoe, kayak and camp.

He was also a member of the Glens Falls/Saratoga Singles Club and the Adirondack Singles, where he met the love of his life, Marlene.

Forrest had a great interest in cooking and loved good food, especially prime rib and shrimp.

He was a wonderful companion, son, father and brother, who will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.

Survivors include his father, Robert E. Farley of Fort Edward; two sons, James D. Farley of Hudson Falls and Shane M. Farley of Queensbury; two brothers, James B. Farley and his wife, Eleesa of Bel Air, Md. and Tim Farley of Scotia; his sister, Robin Roumeliotis and her husband, John, of Lancaster, Pa.; his loving companion, Marlene Harppinger of Chestertown; his aunt, Evelyn Jacobie of South Glens Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a world of friends.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Prater, pastor of the Durkeetown Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

I worked with Forrest yrs. ago at Domino's Pizza. To this day, i am reminded and appreciate that he would go out of his way to say hello when he saw me outside of the shop.

I am sorry for your loss.

My aympathies to the Farley family. I cut Forrest's hair for years and didn't realize he was sick. He had a great sense of humor and was quick to help a friend.
