Gail (Granger) Smith
Aug. 22, 1964 - March 9, 2024
GLENS FALLS - Gail (Granger) Smith, a ray of sunshine, went to heaven unexpectedly, on March 9, 2024, born to the late Shirley and Winifred Granger.
The world has lost a special soul loved by many. Gail was loved for her joyful charismatic personality which was larger than life. She truly lit up a room upon entry with her beautiful smile and twinkling eyes.
Gail's greatest accomplishments were her daughter Andrea and her granddaughter Lyllette, "Snookems", her pride and joy.
Gail was blessed with her fiance of eight years, Scott. He loved her with all of his being. She and her sister Donna, "Sissy", were inseparable. She was very close with her nieces who affectionately called her "Auntie", Jammie Lynn and Carrie along with Carrie's children: Lexi and Spencer, and her nephew, Bret whom she adored. Her brother, Dan, "little bro", and Gail had good times singing together.
Gail loved her dogs: Bailey Jo who had passed over the rainbow bridge and her faithful friend, Frankie.
Some friends quotes to describe Gail's qualities are: "an amazing human being, a special soul, funny, talented, big-hearted, one of a kind, real, a warrior, and the life of the party".
Gail was a Hairdresser and master barber at The Queensbury Hotel for many years. She then opened her own salon in her home. Gail was also the Bar Manager for several years at The Lake George Steamboat Company where she was affectionately referred to as "Mama G". Andrea worked alongside her mom here.
The most memorable position she held was singing with her sister, Donna in their band "Country Exposure". They loved having their mom Shirley join them on stage to sing. In remembrance, after her passing, they always added "My Girl" to the set list.
Gail's final occupation was serving at a local Friendly's Restaurant. Gail often joked that she could "cut your hair, serve you a drink, and sing you a song".
Gail enjoyed spending time with Lyllette and Andrea, singing and music of all kinds - her favorite band being Van Halen, summer days by her pool and swinging on the huge swing in the yard on Leavy Hollow Lane, sunflowers, lightening storms, traveling especially vacationing near the ocean, going out to lunch, playing with Frankie, and making others feel uplifted with her incredible sense of humor, love, and caring.
Gail will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughter, Andrea Mallory Morales (Michael); her precious granddaughter, Lyllette "Lil" Commisso; sister, Donna Rossi; fiance, Scott Burnham; niece, Jammie Lynn Krylowicz (David); niece, Carrie Lambert (Mark); brother, Dan Melon (Kim); nephew, Bret Melon; great-niece, Lexi Lord; great-nephew, Spencer Lord.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be utilized for the expense of bringing Gail home to her loved ones. (Please visit Drea Morales on her go fund me page on Facebook for your contribution.)

I remember having fun with Gail and Donna st Sandys for happy hour. We did a few Tequila shots. I loved spending time with them both. She was an amazing woman and so strong for all she has been through. Loved hearing them sing at the Wayside. She will be greatly missed. Sending her family lots of healing prayers and hugs to help you through this time of grief.
