Kyle Sayward Obituary

WILLSBORO, N.Y. * Kyle K. Sayward, 37, of Willsboro died tragically in a motorcycle accident in St. Augustine, Fla., Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.

He was born in Cambridge, N.Y., Aug. 24, 1969, the third child of Kenneth and Teresa (Riley) Sayward.

Kyle was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church.

He was a 1989 graduate of Willsboro Central School and a loyal member of the HOG Club, rarely missing a rally.

Kyle loved his son, Cooper, who was the light of his life. He loved the land and farming; he would help anyone in need and would show up and say "let's get it done."

Besides his son and his family he loved his Harley Family and his lake family. He made many, many friends from Maine to Florida. He was a free spirit and will be missed by many.

Kyle is survived by his son, Cooper; his parents, Ken and Teresa Sayward; his grandparents, Richard and Virginia Sayward; his brother, Glenn Sayward and partner, Ben Peryea and their son, Tim; his sister, Yvonne and husband, Kevin Pierce and their sons, Derrick, Lucas and Elliott; and his sister, Wendy and her husband, Eric Schwenke and their children, John and Jenna Schwenke, Sierra and Hannah Bruno and Kenesa Kohen. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In accordance with his wishes he was an organ donor followed by cremation.

Huestis Funeral Home of Willsboro is in charge of funeral services and will announce th arrangements when finalized.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials in his memory be made to the Cooper M. Sayward Education Fund, c/o Champlain National Bank, Customer Service Representative, P.O. Box 130, Willsboro, NY 12996.

Christel,
I was just putting away some dishes and the wedding souvenier from yours & Kyle's wedding was in the cabinet. It reminded me of what a beautiful wedding you had. You both looked so happy, Kyle, especially when he came cruis'n in on the Harley, true to his free-spirited nature...You guys had amazing moments together, good & bad, and I hope you will find peace and strength in the memories of your husband & friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.

To Christel MacDougal Sayward:
Our fondest memories of Kyle was the night he called us all excited and nervous because he was going to ask you to marry him. He couldn't wait for you to get home. When you told him yes, he called us and he was crying and so very happy that you were going to be his wife. And you had the most beautiful September wedding! Even though you only had him for a short time, you will have memories that no one else will ever have. Please know that we love you very much and will always be there for you and Angell.

Teresa, Kenny and family. I was so saddened to see the article and hear the news of Kyle. I, obviously, have not seen Kyle in sometime in person but I have great memories of him at 4-H programs, meetings and of course the fair in the dairy barn or showring and the water ballon fights and dunks in the water trogh. There was always a smile, helping hand for younger members or the 4-H staff (especially the one that knew very little about dairy), and fun times. With kids like Kyle in 4-H it was such a great program in Essex County. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you reshape your lives without Kyle. I know you all will miss him so much.

A WINK FROM HEAVEN

A little birdie came to me

And sat upon a rock

He told me he was sent here

From geese among the flock

He stopped to tell me you're okay

That you're in Heaven's Show

Attending to the Gardens there

Whose beauty you bestow

He said you really love it

You feel so young and free

That every day is sunny

And peaceful as can be

He said you're always with me

Much nearer than I think

For if I'd look quite closely

I’d see a birdie wink

Dear Sayward Family,
We are so very sorry to hear about your son's death. Our congregation prayed for your family tonight at Mountainside Bible Chapel. Psalms 42:5-6, "Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God for I shall again praise Him for the help of his presence. O my God, my soul is in despair within me, therefore I remember Thee..." We're asking God to wrap His loving arms around your family and for you to experience His peace.

His bike chopped down
A laugh, a grin, a frown
Wind blowing his hair
His Harley get him there
Arms slightly bent with a grip
Been a good ride this trip
Passing everything is sight
Could take the next exit right
Truck traffic is picking up
May have to stop for a cup
Caffeine perks up the senses
Road's getting closer to fences
Coffee was good and strong
All's right and nothing wrong
Extend the arms and sit back
Single lane highway is the track
So carefree like a flying glider
Sprit in the wind...chopper rider.

thought this poem fit kyle when he would just take off on his rides to where ever he wanted to go.our thoughts and prayers are with you.we will dearly miss kyle with all our hearts.love ya bud

Kyle was my best friend Wendy's big brother and the closest thing to a big brother that I ever had. Obviously from reading this guest book many thought of Kyle as a giving, compasionate, loving person. This continued on with his wish to be an organ donor and his ability to let someone else enjoy their life. Ken,Teresa, Wendy & family ... you all always gave me great memories of spending time in Willsboro .. things you always said "let's not tell mom or dad about this one" I wish that I could help ease the pain that you are feeling. May your hearts be filled with the wonderful memories of joyful times together with Kyle. We love you all.
