Patricia (Kovalchik) Lansing
QUEENSBURY - Patricia (Kovalchik) Lansing, 81, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024 from complications due to cancer.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, William E. Lansing, DVM. Partners throughout, the couple owned and operated the Queensbury Animal Hospital for more than 50 years.
Born in Binghamton, NY to the late Joseph and Pauline (Nazar) Kovalchik, Pat enjoyed growing up in Cortland, NY, where she made many life-long friends, including Gwen (Cordary) Marks. It was here that she met and married Bill before starting their family and moving to Queensbury, NY.
Pat was predeceased by her first son, William "Billy" Lansing. She leaves behind her daughter, Michelle Lansing (David) Mercier of Niskayuna, NY; son, Eric (Julianne) Lansing of Corinth, NY; and brother, Michael (Sheila) Kovalchik of Traverse City, MI. She was the proud grandmother of William "Liam" Mercier, whom she showered with love.
Pat was an avid animal lover and bird watcher. Beloved by her family, friends, and clients, she embodied kindness and generosity. She showed us the value of putting others before yourself and the difference you can make just by being a good human being. And equally important, she demonstrated that things which are broken are worth being saved.
Always one to offer a hug or shed a caring tear, Pat lived her life with heart. From her we learned that you can never say "I love you" or "I'm proud of you" too many times. And laughter, whether joyous or nervous, should always be shared.
While she chose a private burial, those who wish to say goodbye can do so by reaching out to her family or by visiting www.sbfuneralhome.com. Pat asked that donations in her memory be made to Randy's Patient Assistance Fund at Glens Falls Hospital.
Pat was extremely grateful for the care she received throughout her cancer journey, particularly that of Darci Gaiotti-Grubbs, MD and the nurses and staff who support Oncology.
I know you didn't think we always listened or paid attention, mom, but I promise we did. Love you more.

Pat was always so alive! It will be difficult to adjust to her being gone - but never, ever forgotten. The love she and Bill shared with each other, their family and friends was authentic and a beautiful memory.
