Pauline Ganter Obituary
Born on March 22, 1914, in Los Angelos, Calif., she was the daughter of George Sokoloff and Emma (Marciniak) Sokoloff.
Mrs. Ganter was the proprietor, with her husband, Joseph, R. Ganter, of the The Ganter's, a Bolton Landing Resort on Lake George, from 1951-1971, when they retired to Margate, Fla.
She was a communicant of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament of Bolton Landing, a member of the Bolton Landing Chamber of Commerce, the Glens Falls Country Club, and the 50-50 Club.
In Margate, she was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and a hospital volunteer at Coral Springs Medical Center.
Mrs. Ganter was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Ganter, one daughter, Marsha Jo Ganter and one grandson, William Richard Ganter.
She is survived by three children, Robert J. Ganter of Queensbury, Lynn Monroe of Ballston Spa, and Susan Geraghty and her husband, Randy, of Odessa, Fla.; 11 grandchildren: Lynn Stromberg, Robert D. Ganter, Janice Ganter, Diane Tucker, Daniel Ganter, Roseanne Miller, Joanne Ganter, Kathleen Quartararo, Kristine Graham, Mark Monroe and Chip Geraghty; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ethel D'Amato of Oceanside, N.Y. and Doris Kahn, of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon, Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Goodman Avenue, Bolton Landing.
A Rite of Committal will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, South Glens Falls.
No calling hours are scheduled.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Ballston Spa Maplewood Manor Nursing Home staff and hospice personnel on A2 for their dedicated care and concern of Mr.s Ganter.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions in Mrs. Ganter's memory may be made to Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stafford Funeral Home, Inc. of Lake George.
