HEBRON- Richard H. Mattison, 90 of Hebron died August 26, 2024 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
He was born on May 31, 1934 in West Hebron, NY the son of LeRoy and Ruth (Safford) Mattison.
Mr. Mattison married Dorothy Vanguilder in 1955. They had 3 sons and a daughter. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage until her death on February 6, 2021.
He was a dairy farmer in Hebron for many years then was employed by the Town of Hebron on the Road Crew for 20 years until his retirement. He also constructed Harvestore Silos at one point.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering on all kinds of machinery. He always liked to be working on fixing things.
Mr. Mattison was a member of the Republican Party and Defender for Wildlife.
Survivors include a daughter Brenda Aubin of Oroville, Wa, a son David Mattison of Hebron, 2 sisters Gail Hall of Hebron and Linda Ashcroft of South Carolina, 2 brothers Bruce Mattison of Salem and Clark Mattison if Greenwich, 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2021, 2 sons Richard L. Mattison and Douglas A. Mattison, and 4 brothers Earl Mattison, Harold Mattison, John Mattison, and Glenn Mattison, 2 half siblings Charles Mattison and Lillian Mattison, his parents, his in-laws, 3 sisters-in-law Marge Russell, Veronica Gilmore, and Patty Menally and a brother-in-law Charles Russell.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 360, 152 E. Broadway, Salm, NY 12865.

I love and I´ll miss my grandpa dearly but I´m happy to know that he´s with our grandma again, and that´s all he´s wanted for the last 3 years. May they both rest easy and know that their families love and miss them.
