Steven Robert Stark
June 10, 1964 - Jan. 20, 2024
SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Steven Robert Stark went home to Jesus on January 20, 2024, following a sudden cardiac event and valiant fight to recover. His loving family and friends were by his side and are deeply saddened by the loss of this great man.
Steven was born to Sherman and Eileen Stark on June 10, 1964, at Glens Falls Hospital. He grew up in Hudson Falls and enjoyed a happy and active childhood filled with mischief and adventure. He had the rare gift of a group of lifelong friends who loved him and remain loyal to his family. Their shared memories bring such joy and laughter.
Steve completed his elementary education in Hudson Falls where he excelled in athletics; soccer, baseball and particularly basketball. He led the Tigers to many victories. He shared his passion with his children and loved coaching them through childhood which included many games of one on one. He was always up for a catch. Steve was also a loyal fan of March Madness which won't be the same without him.
Steven completed his formal education at SUNY Cobleskill as a Business Management major.
He then headed out to California to find adventure and his soulmate April. They married on July 21, 1990 and would be celebrating 34 wonderful, messy, and ultimately beautiful years together this summer.
Steve's business acumen contributed to his career success managing for several large corporations. It was his personal qualities of humility, fairness, compassion and work ethic that made him a great leader.
Steven retired from Business Management and his last position was at Irving in Fort Edward where he was appreciated for his excellent work, positive attitude and of course his humor.
Steven was happiest on his 4-wheeler at his beloved Weller Mountain, marveling at God's creations and sometimes getting stuck! He loved a good cigar and game of cards with his best buddies "the brain trust".
Steve was an animal lover and a friend to every dog he ever met. His girl Lois will miss her trips to the dog park. Lastly, Steve loved his brothers and sisters in Christ at Gateway, led by his good friend and Pastor Wade Petteys.
Left to mourn his passing and rejoice in his salvation are his beloved wife, April; and their children: Mallory Stark and Gabriel Stark. He was such a proud father; he also leaves behind his sweet grandson, Beau DePalo, to whom he was the very best "Pop-pop"; his brother, Clifford (Cindy) Stark; sisters: Brenda (Gerry) Stark and Sharon (Kris) Whalley; aunt, Joan Hogan; and many cousins; Steven took great pride in and loved his nieces and nephews who have shared stories of uncle Steven and his impact on their lives.

My heart and prayers go out to the Stark family.
Steve was my manager at the wilton petsmart. He was a great boss and always looked out for his employees. He was fun to joke around with and it was easy to embarrass when cracking jokes. Hearing about his passing was a shock. And he will be greatly missed by many who were fortunate enough to know him.
May he rest in peace and know that he will always be watching out for his family from above.

Steve was the best boss I have ever had. He had integrity. He was fair and tried to see both sides when dealing with people. His qualities and his love of dogs made Petsmart the most enjoyable job I have ever had. I am so happy to have met him. Sending prayers and hugs to his family and many friends.
