Thomas Hanley Obituary
Born on August 29, 1937 in Hudson Falls, he was the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Schmidt) Hanley.
He married Joan Pickett of Hudson Falls in 1956 and worked as a Police Officer in Hudson Falls, Police Chief in South Glens Falls and Fort Edward. He and Joan owned TJ's Inn in Queensbury before moving to Florida in 1984. He retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer in 1999.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed motorcycles, classic cars, Nascar, camping, country music, cruising and spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years Joan, grandson Thomas Hanley, in laws Robert and Gertrude Pickett, brother in law William Pratt, in laws Gary and Patricia Pickett, nephew Keith (Annie) Pickett.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years Barbara Connell-Hanley, son Michael Hanley, daughter Jodi (Jon) Roberts, grandson William (Jerico) Roberts, granddaughter Stacie Roberts, sister in law Gloria Pratt, brothers in law George (Charlene) Pickett and David (Linda) Pickett, and a special niece Kathy (David) Cerny. Steps sons Phillip (Linda) Girard, Michael (Betty) Girard, Robert Connell. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours or local service.

God bless you sir, you´ve ran and jumped many hurdles in life and accomplished many things and will be remembered for those times. Sympathies and condolences to the family, and may he rest in piece now.

My condolences to the family. I didn't see him often after he moved south but I have good memories of him and was thankful for his service to the Village of South Glens Falls.

I worked for the Chief in So. Glens Falls PD. He was a good leader and a friend. Always spoke to me as a new officer as an equal. I learned a lot from Chief Hanley. Condolences to family.
