Charles Lennier Memoriam

He graduated from Hackett High School in 1952 and served in the United States Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1962. He attended Poteau Junior College where he met Carol Kerr, and, after a short courtship, they were married April 25, 1959.
After graduating from Poteau Junior College, he became interested in the art of building furniture. He owned and operated Lennier Manufacturing Company in Chickasha from 1965-78. The next several years he spent working across western Oklahoma X-Raying pipelines.
In the mid 1980s, he and Carol decided to return to Poteau to be near family and friends. They have owned and operated an upholstery and furniture repair shop in Poteau since 1988.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home, son Michael and his wife Karen of Chickasha, daughters Lesli Lennier and Cindi Lennier both of Muskogee; granddaughter Katheryn Ford and husband Andrew of Chickasha, grandson Kristopher and wife Corey of Tuttle, great-grandchildren Ian and Karigan Ford, sister Roma Spradley of Hackett, brother James Robert Lennier of Virginia, many cousins, nieces, nephew, friends and special brother-in-law Jerry Kerr of Muskogee.
Private graveside service will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home, Greenwood, Ark. Public viewing will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at the funeral home.
