Being from a fire company family, the loss to this family and the whole community really hits home. There is always a risk that these individuals take when they dedicate themselves to the task of protecting and serving us. For that sacrafice we are eternally thankful. As I watched the procession with my great Aunt who also happens to be their neighbor, we were touched and overwhelmed by the support and respect all the local communities were showing. Rest in Peace and know how much you will be missed.

"There is a hole"
There is a hole in humanity.
There is a hole in our larger community.
There is a hole in our smaller/closer, Trappe community.
A hole at the Pennsylvania State Police Troop K.
A hole at the Trappe Fire Company NO.1.
A hole in the Long Family.
A hole in the Sisca Family.
There is a hole in Brittany's life.
Branden was a wonderful human being.
Branden was a man of service:
of service to all communities
as a firefighter,
as a state trooper,
as a family member,
as a husband,
and as a father to be..........
Last week, a few days after Branden's passing, I spoke with Brian Long, previous Trappe Fire Company No. 1's Fire Chief, who is also Branden's father-in-law and friend. With his permission, Chief Long's, I am going to share with you, what he said to me. Paraphrasing: I knew he was going to ask me for Brittany's
hand in marriage. I broke his ---a little, but I was like -YES! I had hit the jackpot. I could not have asked
for a better person to be my son-in-law, to be my daughter's husband.......... This says it all.
What happen on March 21s was sad and tragic. It was horrific.
Many feelings have been evoked by this event, by Branden's death.
We, all of us, must accept that in life we cannot control the forces that act on us, but can only control
how we respond to them. We can only control our actions and reactions.
Now is the time to grieve, because there is a hole. It will heal with time, as a wound in our skin or a
broken bone does. There will be a scar forever, but like a scar you can heal stronger, if you let yourself do so. It, the scar; the memory of Branden's death will be painful at times, but it can also be a source strength, if you allow it to be............
Let Branden be an example for us.
Do good.
Be of service to humanity.
Be of service to our larger community.
Be of service to our smaller/closer, Trappe community.
Be of service to organizations that protect us all.
Be of service to your families.
Be of service to your loved ones.
Honor Branden's memory in this way.
You, we could not have asked for a better person, individual, to have been in our community, in our
lives. Branden is an exemplary example of what we hope all members of society will become: A
productive, caring, giving human being.
Branden we will miss you.

Me and my son knew Branden from the neighborhood. Branden and the other boys were older then my son Troy, but Branden always took care of and watched Troy while playing wiffle ball, hockey or manhunt. Such a shame and way to young for this to happen to a great and caring man. Branden you will be missed RIP and thank you for all your service and your braveness. God bless and RIP

To the Sisca family, I had just begun to know Branden through Trappe Borough because of work with Borough Council. Jeff and I had just seen him at the fire house one week before the tragedy to get a tour of the fire house. we saw the selfless giving and caring person that cared for others more than himself. He will never be forgotten. Theresa and Jeff Pammer
