Charles Rhoads Sr.

Charles “Bob” R. Rhoads, Sr., 78, of Gilbertsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Manorcare Health Services. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Cisick) Rhoads who passed in 1997. Born in Pottstown, PA, on April 19, 1940, Charles was the son of the late Leroy and Laura (Brunner) Rhoads. Bob worked for over 40 years at the Dana Corporation in Pottstown and Reading. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching the Eagles and Phillies. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. He is survived by one son, Charles R. Rhoads, Jr., husband of Robin, Boyertown, PA; two daughters, Melody Rhoads, Boyertown, PA; and Lisa Kirlin, wife of Dale, Ellendale, DE; four grandchildren, Jenny, Felisha, Abby, and Cody; two great-granddaughters, Jocelyn and Jillian; one brother, William Rhoads; and one sister, Betty Heckman. He is predeceased by one brother, Ernest Brunner. Viewings will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park.
