Douglass Umstead Obituary

Douglass “Jay” Umstead – 70, husband to Robin R. (Miller) Umstead, passed away peacefully with his family by his side December 25, 2021 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Douglas J. Umstead and Virginia (Weldner) Umstead. Jay loved watching football, and especially liked to wager a little. Mostly he was passionate about keeping in touch with his friends. Jay simply enjoyed being at home! Surviving along with his wife Robin is his son, Douglass J. Umstead Jr., his adopted daughter, Tenzin Umstead, his sister Gini Miller(Gary), two nieces - Michelle Breslin, Diana Bodnar (Chris), two great nieces - Paige Breslin, Alyssa Bodnar, great nephew Brian Bodnar, great great niece Aisla Guadamuz, and great great nephew Jaxson Guadamuz. Family will have a private ceremony to celebrate Jay’s life. In honor of Jay donations can be made to the Humanity Registry at P.O. Box 835, Philadelphia, PA 19105.
