E. Kathryn “Kass” (Yoder) Detweiler, 86, of Boyertown, PA; formerly of Perkasie, PA went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Alvin F. Detweiler for 57 years. Kass was born in Blooming Glen, PA to the late Wilmer R. & K. Florence (Keller) Yoder. Prior to marriage, she worked as a Product Examiner for Ridge Hosiery in Quakertown, PA. Kass was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Boyertown Mennonite Church. Kass assisted her husband, the former pastor, of Boyertown Mennonite Church and Allentown Mennonite Church. She also worked with her husband as Camp Director at Men-O-Lan, Quakertown and Spruce Lake Wilderness Camp in Canadensis, over a period of 35 years. Kass was a spiritual leader and prayer warrior and was dedicated to praying for her families, friends and others. She had a witty sense of humor and had many “one-liners” that kept you laughing. Kass was a very caring, compassionate lady who had an unconditional love for everybody. She is survived by six daughters, Twila Nazario & husband, Jorge of Exeter, PA, Leona Kolb & husband, Dave of Gillett, PA, Aleta Kulp & husband, Glen of Lewes, DE, Carol Smith of Telford, PA, Karla Moonsammy & husband, Trevor of Morrisville, PA, Krista Detweiler & companion, Derek of Pottstown, PA; four sons, Steve Detweiler & wife, Jill of Royersford, PA, Douglas Detweiler of McVeightown, PA, Kenton Detweiler of Maui, HI, Marc Detweiler & wife, Jody of Green Lane, PA; 36 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Hackman of Souderton, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, Kass was preceded in death by a son, Philip Detweiler. Viewings will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Boyertown Mennonite Church, 275 Mill Street, Boyertown, Pennsylvania 19512 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 am PROMPT at Boyertown Mennonite Church. Burial will take place in adjoining church cemetery.
