Lewis Calcinore Obituary

LEWIS A. CALCINORE, 90, OF ROYERSFORD Lewis A. Calcinore, 90, husband of Rose (DePaoli) Calcinore of Royersford, died on Sunday morning in the Phoenixville Hospital. Lew was born in Royersford, a son to the late Remegio and Elvera (Golie) Calcinore. Lew resided all of his life in Royersford. He was a veteran of the United States Army as Sergeant serving during World War II in the Asiatic pacific Theater; earning the Bronze Star, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct, and Victory Medal and Asiatic Campaign Medal with two stars. Lew was owner and president of the former Pre Design Steel Company in Douglassville for many years until his retirement. He also owned and operated former Lew's Laundromat in Royersford. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church ion Royersford. Lew was also a Lifelong member of the Spring Ford Country Club. He was a member of the Thomas W. O'Connor Post 602 Spring City American Legion, The Royersford Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6641, and the Liberty Fire Company in Spring City, and the Italian American Bocce Club in Royersford. Lew was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and internationally as well. In addition to his wife of 66 years he is survived by daughter: Diane Cleveland of Royersford; grandson: Robert L. husband of Denise Cleveland of Douglassville; a great-granddaughter: Ally Cleveland; and sisters: Elizabeth Sciallo of Chester Springs and Ann Madera of Phoenixville. He is predeceased by sisters: Mary Jurata and Amelia Sciallo, and brothers; Robert, Albert, Ernest, James and John Calcinore. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his funeral mass on Thursday, October 31, at the Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Walnut Street and Lewis Road, Royersford at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Peter J. DMaria will officiate. His entombment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Thursday morning in church from 9:15- 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts may be made in memory to the Sacred Heart Church 838 Walnut Street Royersford PA 19468.
